Bad ghosting of all colours

First it started with the red colour starting to go out of convergance so i tried to adjust it with the perfect focus feature but that wouldnt go though it procedure so then i tried to adjust it manualy but it wouldnt let me get it right. So i then unpluged the tv from the wall socket for around 45 minutes. then i pluged it back in it was still the same for about 15 minutes and then all the colours did the same thing as the red. it still wont do the perfect focus or adjust manualy. any help would be gratefully appeciated.

Re: bad ghosting of all colours

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer2_bing.gif Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get a convergenece repair kit with instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2
Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

How old is ur tv...? Cos the wear & tear is the cause for this ghost appearance. The repair for this is only temporarily. It can not be eliminated completely.

Generally the blue ad yellow colour can be removed by a tool which is available with a tv technician. It is not very expensive to do this. Hoping to hear from you.

"Perfect Focus" problem on Samsung HCN4727W

You have a bad sensor, a bad digital convergence board, or the new board is not working correctly. I would start by swaping out the convergence board or exchange it for another one. Good Luck

Red Ghost

This may be a convergence issue but it is difficult to determine with that description. Watch this video and see if it will help you determine if you have a convergence problem or possible something else.

oh u posted the request here huh?
i was lookin into the premium request.
ok here you go..
Technically speaking, there is no such thing as "ghosting" on digital
Ghosting might visualy describe it, but if you're not watching analog then that's not the problem. The problem is most likely in the convergence.
First thing first - If still under warranty or if you have no electronic repair experience you should take the set back to the shop or to a repair person. Some of the solutions described below can be dangerous, TV's are very hazardous to service.
If you don't have any repair experience my suggestions can only be usefull to get a repair estimate, or in order to get more familiar with these kind of problems, impress your local repair person etc..
actually tat effect wil be in some red colour..(assuming tat its of red colour).. ur case is with green.. but i shall say u in red.. u just convert it..

switch to test mode to check the red crosshair compared to the green or blue - if it seems out of focus, open the set and mark the position of the lense. Then adjust it to tighten the line.
Find out why the Red has shiffted(pin trouble). look for bad solder joints on that board. Its also Possible that you have a failed component
Try resoldering the STK Output IC's very carefully. In a worst case scenario , you may need to change the STK that controls the Red Convergence .
Yank out the convergence board(the one that has several controls) on it, then you will find a few contols that have RED PIN (whatever). on them. Adjust them untill you get it right

problem solved.
