Question about ViewSonic VX2235WM Monitor

Open Question

Sometimes when I turn on my monitor pixels will go green or flicker. I have tried switching graphic cards, and inputs but neither of these fix the problem. The only fix I have is that I turn the monitor off and then back on. This seams to correct the issue but doesn't actually fix it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

SOURCE: ViewSonic VX910 monitor has a power supply issue.

Your monitor have a bad condensator in the PSU.

The only thing to do is to replace the Power Supply Unit (very expensive, more than a new monitor) or if you have electronic tools, found and replace that condensator.(cheaper way...)

or

Have you connected your monitor with a new power cord ?

Best Regards!

When I turn on my computer the LG Monitor displays the Digital Message appears and it goes to sleep. How do I fix this problem

This sounds like what happens when the monitor receives no video input.
The problem could be your computer, lead or connection rather than the monitor.

If your computer has a graphics card, try removing it, switching the computer on, switching off and refitting the graphics card or testing with a known good graphics card or computer.

If nothing works the monitor probably has a fault.

My dell gx260 ligth come green if i turn it on but for a few mins time it turn orange why

Do you mean the monitor's power light starts green and then turns orange when you turn it on? Most monitors will go to a power saving mode when they do not get a signal from the computer.

The Dell GX260 has a green power light when on. When the computer is off, the light is off. If it is green and blinking, then the computer is in a power saving mode.

Diagnosis: start with the obvious: is the monitor cable plugged into both the computer and the monitor (if not permanently connected to the monitor)? Are you connected to the active port? (You can add a video graphics card in most desktops. The motherboard video port usually needs to be disabled to use the card ports. If you plug in the monitor cable to the disabled port, it won't work.) Is the monitor set to the correct input? (This applies if the monitor has several ports. In that case, there will be a Source or Input button on the monitor.) Is the computer on? The GX260 has the power button on the front. (Other computers have the power button on the top.) There is also the power supply switch on the back which needs to be on.

Next try a different data cable between the monitor and the computer (if you can). Try a different monitor. If a second monitor works, than the monitor has a damaged main board. If the second monitor doesn't work, then the video graphics adapter has probably failed. Replace the add-on card, if in use, then boot in the safe mode to remove the old graphics driver. Then install the correct driver for the graphics adapter.

Note: the computer and the monitor should both be off when you connect the cables. Then turn on the monitor first and set it to the correct source before turning on the computer.)

I hope this helps.

Average costs aer about $50. Before you try YET ANOTHEr monitor, please try to hook the computer up to a tv to see if the problem pesists, if so, it is time for the above video adapter

That issue normally happens with the graphics card. I am not sure if you have a PCI or an AGP graphics card or an onboard graphics card. But for all of the issue, you can try updating the motherboard chipset driver, or the graphics card (incase you have the onboard or AGP graphics card).

Try logging in to BIOS stay for some time and check if the screen flickers. If the screen flickers still in BIOS, its a possible graphics issue

Power light blinks red, green and off. No picture

Is there another monitor input on the back of you computer? Sometimes this happens when your graphics card is not compatible so it is best to try another one. If you have another one plug it in there first. If you don't try the monitor on a friends computer. If it still does the same thing, it may be a manufacturer defect and may need repair.

I HAVE PURCHASE A SAMSUNG 20" LCD MONITOR MODEL NO. 2033 SW PLUS ON 09/10/2009 IT SHOW A VERTICAL GREEN HAIR LINE ON SCREEN PLEASE SUGGEST ME...........

return to the retailer and exchange it. if it's a green line from top to bottom, the retailer should be able to exchange it. some retailers have a minimum of "stuck pixels" before they will take it back (ie. 10 pixels), but if it's a line, that should be more than the min.

This means that you have reached the limitation of the graphics card of the PC that you have connected to it. You could try changing the Refresh rate of the card to see if you can get a higher resolution.

Alienware monitor flickering green

Hi,

this is most likely, a fault with the tft panel ( cfl Tube Or invertor )
Or a motherboard fault. I,d change screen invertor first Then new Panel.
Also if it has 2 graphics cards, 1 may have a fault.

Thankyou for using Fixya.
