No, as it doesn't get hot enough to start a fire. The only thing that would be dangerous to your carpet would be if it leaked oil and stained it.

Engine concern

Smoke (blue or black) or steam (white)? White smoke is really steam that is caused by water leaking onto hot surface. Could be leaking from hose running to heater coil under dash, or something else. Check radiator water level to make sure water level is ok. Blue smoke is oil burning. This could be dangerous, caused by similar scenario of oil leaking on a hot surface (from a gasket leak, etc), or exhaust fumes. Black smoke means something is actually burning and could indicate fire. Black or blue some could fill vehicle cabin with toxic fumes, even if you don't smell anything bad.

Tip-over switch location

It will be inline with the power entering, meaning probably by the thermal overload, it may not be equipped with that , but rely on a thermal overload as the oil units surface temps are no way near the point of combustion if it does touch aything as curtains or rugs etc.

I am putting water in my coolant bottle twice a day to avoid overheating. It won't hold water?

Is the coolant bottle actually leaking or do you have a more severe problem? I would start by looking on the ground underneath your vehicle underneath the engine. If its coming from the front look at your radiator first, then your hoses upper and lower then your water pump and finally your heater hoses. If you cant see a leak start the car and let it warm up so your system has pressure to it. Then take a look and please dont stick your hand anywhere around the engine while it is running. Last place to look is feel the rug on the passenger side of the car to see if the rug is wet that would lead to a faulty heater core. If your handy with tools call around to your local auto parts store or tool rental places to see if they have a pressure tester. You can then pressurise your system with this tool and it should help you to find the leak.

I hope this helps you out, and if so please leave me a rating.

Does my kirby come apart to where i can shampoo furniture . can i use kirby on berber carpet. i have the G series

YES there is Kirby upholstery shampoo attachment that comes in a standard set of attachments - HERE is the instructions. Try it on inconspicuous area first just to make sure that this is going to work on your upholstery. But I would just buy a can of upholstery foam. If you can not find it in a store - try automotive store - they definitely have it. Spray can is just much more simple. Still try it somewhere where you would not be afraid to damage the color first.

Using shampoo attachment on berber carpets is not as effective as on the regular carpet. Brush cant get to brush the fiber from all sides. You may have to shampoo berber rugs from several directions to get the better result.

Delonghi 5 fin 700/800/1500w, oil filled heater.

It sounds like you have a lemon. The heat exchanger tube has developed a hole somewhere. These things are designed for the small element inside to heat up the oil, and that is supposed to radiate the heat. It would be dangerous to use without any kind of oil. The element would burn out hopefully before it started a fire, but not necessarily. I don't know what kind of oil they use, but its a thin viscosity, like some turbine oil. You can patch the hole and try some pump oil or something, but I personally don't think its a good idea. I wouldn't do it.
