Question about Casablanca Fan Panama II 50" Ceiling

1 Answer

The Intelitouch wall control operation is intermittent. If the power button is off for a period of time, when powered on the fan doesn't operate properly. I need to push the reverse button, power the unit off then on a couple of times before it will respond properly to pressing the "Fan" speed button.

Your control is malfunctioning. If the fan will sometimes operate normally, it is not a problem with the board in the fan. The replacement control is $50~ through Casablanca, but you can find them on ebay for half that cost, or less. Depending on your model of fan you may have the W-32 control, or the W-33. Most likely you have the W-32, but, reply with the model # and I'll let you know which control you have.

Thanks

Casa Vieja ceiling fan w/remote; worked well. Then wall switch was turned on/off, chains pulled. Everything working: fan high, med and low, and light on/off/dim - except now fan won't turn off !

The chain pulling and switch flipping causes the simple logic in the remote receiver to become confused. Your only hope for restoring normal operation (short of replacement) is to disconnect power at the source, then remove remote battery and press all buttons to eliminate "stuck button" problem. Reconnect power and test operation using only the remote. If normal, you will have to decide whether to disable pull chains, wall switches, or both. If not normal, you will have to try an infinite number of combinations of pull chains, wall switches, and power on-off to get things back to normal.

Fan buttons work the light. Light button does nothing. No button causes fan to operate. What's wrong?

If there are pull-chain switches on the fixture, their operation may have caused remote control to fail. Turn off power at the source, pause for a few minutes, and turn on power. Either fan or light control, or both, may work. If not, you will have to figure out which pull-chain operation makes things right again. To avoid future problems, disconnect the pull chains at the link so only the remote controls operation.

My remote lights up when you press the button but it's not controlling my fan.

Controlling a ceiling fan/light using a wall switch causes the remote control to lose its memory. You will have to start all over at the beginning. Remove batteries from the remote, push all buttons to eliminate a stuck button as a cause, then reinstall batteries but do not push any button yet. Be sure all wall switches are off. Go to the power source for the fan/light (not the wall switch) and turn it off. Wait briefly, then turn on the power at the source again. Try remote operation. If successful, use only the remote to control operation. Forget about using the wall switches.

Monte Carlo ceiling fan and light not working

Even a brief power outage can cause amnesia in the receiver. You can try disconnecting power at the source and spending a few minutes removing the battery from the wall-mounted remote and pressing all buttons to eliminate the 'stuck button' problem. Reinstall the remote battery and reconnect main power to the unit. Test operation.
Lastly, there always is the possibility that some gremlin changed your original control setup.

Ceiling fan is all wired up and on ceiling but light doesn't come on or fan doesn't spin. I have checked connections and tested for power. Is there a switch or anything on receiver that needs to be...

Jerry, from what you said, I assume you have a remote controlled ceiling fan. If that's the case, check the batteries in the hand held and the receiver, to make sure they are charged. Also, make sure they are installed properly. The Owner's Manual should have a reference to setting or resetting the codes for the remote control (Hand Held & the Receiver). Check those to make sure they are matching. And don't forget, the wall switch must remain ON for the fan to work, even with the remote control. The remote simply overrides the wall switch, when in operation. You may have to use the pull chain to start the fan motor the first time, then the remote can take over from there.

Good luck. I hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Code pf

hello,

this pf code simply mean that there has been a power failure from the power supply to the control unit of the dryer.

Carefully put off the dryer from the wall allow it for some time remove the wire from the wall for some period then put it on again allow it to relaex before operating it.

Good luck.

When I turn on the fan for the cabin, it does not start blowing air as it should. I am guessing it is an issue with the fan / blower mechanism. Wiring could be the primary issue because sometimes the fan...

If the fan operates intermittently, but normally when running, it is less likely that the fan motor is the problem. More likely it is a failure in the power supply to the fan motor. If the fan motor was faulty it is much more likely to cease operation totally rather than to operate intermittently as you say it has been doing.

Without physically checking the operation myself it is hard to diagnose. However, there are at least 2 areas for checking:

1. The fan switching mechanism. Is your fan switch faulty and cutting power flow? As the problem is intermittent operate the switch a number of times to see if the symptoms repeat at a time the fan is operating for you.

2. The wiring. There could be a dodgy connection in the wiring to/from the fan motor which is intermittently cutting power flow to the fan motor.
This will need to be carefully checked.

I would suggest you also contact your local toyota service department and talk to one of the experienced people there. Just suggest you are going to bring the vehicle in for service. <More often than not it is likely a number of owners will have come in with exactly the same problem as yours in which event they will be able to tell you what they diagnosed in previous cases. If you cannot get any useful info then contact another dealer.

Casablanca fan speed problem

If this fan has a pullchain that also controls the fan speed, and you have a remote, the pullchain has to be set for the highest speed. If it is set at medium or low, it will mess with the remote operation. Note: usually high speed is the first pull after the "off" position.
