Question about Hampton Bay 52 In. Brushed Nickel Romano with Integrated Pan Style Light Kit Fan

When replacing the light bulbs, two broke off in the socket. I got them out and put in new bulbs but now they won't light. If I wiggle them, it seem to want to make connection but won't stay lit. Can we purchase a replacement light plate?

Light socket failure

You could clean the sockets with WD40. LED bulbs are more reliable. You can get better quality LED Bulbs that give the same light as a normal bulb. You can use higher wattage LED bulbs, but only up to the same level as the light fitting will take. So if the fitting says up to 40 watts, you can get a LED bulb up to the equivalent of 40 watts

My right rear blinker went out so my husband changed the bulb but after doing so the whole light does not work. what could this be?

There seems to be a common problem on a lot of Jeeps with the rear tail light sockets or the wiring right at them. You would need to pull the whole assembly out and apart. See if you can spot a problem with the sockets. It would help to have a voltmeter or test light to keep checking for power at the sockets as you wiggle wires and bulb sockets. If you can't find the problem, consider replacing the whole assembly with new or used.

My son has a 2003 Focus 1.8 tdci left hand drive because he lives in France. The right hand rear light is not working; but the bulb is OK. Any ideas I could help him with?

Not many electrical problems with the Focus...:) Depending on the climate He lives in...many times the bulb socket will become contaminated with try would be to clean out the socket and wipe dry...then use bulb lubricant when putting bulb back in socket...try wiggling bulb in the socket...this will confirm the problem...most sockets are cleanable...but can be replaced...:)

The lights around my license plate are out. I replaced them and they are still not working. I am wondering about the fuse, but am not sure which fuse controls these lights on a 2000 Lincoln Town car

not sure which fuse except to say same fuse as tail lights is one you're looking for. try turning your park lights on and wiggling bulbs back and forth,i suspect a bad ground inside bulb holder. you can wiggle bulb to check that. after you do get it working i suggest you apply some bulb grease to put into bulb socket for no future problems.

Changing headlight bulbs, low beam, need procedure

You will have to raise the hood and get to the back side of the light assembly. There will be a plastic cap or rubber dust cover that the wires go thru to the light. If it is a cap, turn it a 1/4 turn counterclockwise and pull it back out of the way. The bulb socket should come out of the light now. Unclip the old bulb. DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS PART OF THE NEW BULB. Skin oils can cause bulb to blow. Plug the new bulb in. Put it back in the lamp assembly and replace the cap. IF it is the dust cap, pull it out of the way, may have to wiggle it. If there is a clip that looks like a bent paperclip holding the bulb in with a screw at each end, the clip should squeeze and release the bulb. Put new one in and reassemble.

Hood Light Problem

This is a light socket problem, and it has plagued hoods for years simply because grease builds up there and is acidic. One fix is to disconnect the power and wash the socket with alcohol, then buff with steel wool being careful to leave no steel wool behind. After cleaning you will need to re-tension the little aluminum/brass button at the bottom of the socket by placing a screwdriver under it and gently lifting it about 30 degrees upwards. Replace the bulbs with ONLY the stated wattage bulbs indicated on the panel.

How to replace third brake light on 1997 lexus es 300

"To get access to the 3rd brake light:

- Place each hand against both sides of the plastic housing, and firmly grasp and pull the housing towards you. It might not budge at first, but it should move once you get a good grip on it.

- Pull the housing out just enough so that you can see the brake light bulb and stick your hand underneath. Ignore the speaker wires.

- Pull out the old bulb from the socket (it plugs in/out). Wear rubber gloves when handling the new bulb, and put the new one into the socket.

- Reverse the steps here to put the 3rd brake light back into place. Test out your brake light, and you're done" quoted from lexusk8 @ (great forum)

Replace brake light on my 2002 Honda Oddesey passenger side

Open the rear hatch and remove the two taillight mounting screws. These screws are located behind two plastic flaps that are flush fitting and part of the tail light housing. You will need a small flat blade screwdriver to put under the edge of the flap nearest the light. Pry gently (but persistently) and the flap will open to reveal the screw head underneath. (The hinge of the flap is on the side nearest the hatch opening.) Remove the screws with a phillips head screwdriver or an 8mm socket. Now comes the tricky part. Wiggle/pry the taillight housing as straight back as you can. Keep pulling/wiggling until the forward clip releases. Once it does you will be able to access the bulbs by rotating the bulb holders counterclockwise. Pull the bulb straight up out of its socket. Replace with the new bulb. Note how the forward spear point clip fits into its socket at the forward outboard edge of the housing. Fit the clip and push forward on the housing until you can hear the clip snap into place. Replace the screws and fold back the flaps. You're done.
