Got a Toshiba satellite s1000-z2 that wont come out of standby at all u have to power down then turn it back on!!! Any help with this will be greatly appreciated

Completely remove the battery and unplug the power cord for a few minutes. Reinsert battery and power up. You can also hit F8 when starting and see if you can boot into safe mode.

Hi, usually to get into bios on a toshiba laptop you press and hold the Esc key or the F1 key. try both of these, if they dont work, try this: 1. Turn on computer by Holding down power button while pressing the ESC key. The machine will beep, then display: Check System, then press [F1] key. 2. Release ESC key 3. Press F1 key If none of these work, we may have a different problem all together, get back to me if so, and i will see if we can find a solution. Hope this helps! Si :)

select control panel off computer menu then select performance and maintence icon then select power options then you will see power options properties options tabs.. set properties to suit your needs

Hi there, Your ac adapter is damaged & that's why power does not transfer in your notebook. The capacitor of adapter is burned & that's why the noise started. Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

Lamp timer reset for toshiba tlpx100


To reset the lamp counter:
  1. Turn power off and unplug the power cord
  2. Simultaneously hold down these three buttons: "ON/STANDBY", "RETURN", "DOWN" (the arrow down symbol)
  3. Plug in the power cord while still holding down the buttons.
    The Projector will emit a series of beeps.
  4. Turn on power using "ON/STANDBY" button and check that "0H" appears on the lamp time in the status display.
  5. Turn off projector using "ON/STANDBY" button
  6. Unplug power cord.

My Toshiba A215-S4697 froze and I shut it off by holding the power button down. When I went to turn it back on the power light came on but the Satelitte light didn't. The screen wasn't on either and the...


it could have failed,but its more likely you have sequential procedures for the power button,like holding it down for more than 5 seconds etc--you might have just put your machine into "standby mode"--check manufacturers site for power key process--good luck!

Enable standby and hibernation in my laptop again


You can manually re-enable the Hibernate option via command prompt using these instructions:
  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select All Programs > Accessories
  3. Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator .
  4. At the command prompt enter
    "powercfg -h ON"
  5. Close the command prompt window.

You can check your power options properties. Choose never of the turn off monitor, turn off hard disk and system standby... On your Desktop, right click and point to properties and point to screen saver you can see the power tab. click it and you can see the power options properties window. If the settings set same as i given. The battery of your laptop must have a problem.

If the power indicator works when the power cord is pluged in you might call toshiba then...if nothing happens, however, a power unit brake-down does happens from time to time...

Laptop wont turn on


when you take the battery out and unplug the power cord you can press and hold down the power button to reset the CMOS you also can on some toshiba models flip it over on the backside and press a pen in the "gold lined" screw hole.

Did u tried in external monitor??If not so do it?It seems that a problem is VGA!
