Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC

1 Answer

Abrupt loss of signal to monitor.

My mom's e-mach. Mod #d6419 desktop just started acting up. She was playing a word game when the screen suddenly scrambled and then went blank. Upon reboot, her e-view 17f2 monitor started displaying the self test pattern (with all 3 three colors) but says it is not getting a signal. Power is on to tower and serial cable connection (and pins on same) all seem ok. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

May be your Video card. Try a different monitor to see if it is working. If not you may need a new video card.

My Benq monitor was working, then it suddenly went black and said Hdmi no signal. After a few hours, it started again fine, but when I tried to play a game, after a minute or so it went black and star

Check the signal cable connected in between monitor and system for firmness. Re-seat at both end once and check. If it does not help you, contact any service technician. Gopakumar Gopalan Google

It sounds more like your video card is overheating, and stops sending output to your monitor. Double check the card, make sure the fans are running correctly. From what I can tell, the Geforce GT320 highest temp seems to be 105c. You can use RivaTuner to keep an eye on your temps. You can download it here.

Throw some more fans in the case if necessary.

It has something to do with your screen resolution. Maybe the games resolution is higher that what your monitor can use. Under your game settings, look for Options> Video> Resoltion, set it to 800x600 and try to play again. If it works, then adjust it to a higher resolution.

Screen comes on says Acer then No Signal, and goes out. if shut power off and then back on get same result.

This means the monitor believes it's not connected to the computer. Verify the cables first of all. Then try booting in safe mode (F8 key at PC startup) in order to verify that the PC is sending data to the proper video port (you might have a dual VGA / Digital output, for example, and the monitor might be connected to the wrong PC port). Quite often, a "bad signal" will be the same of "no signal"; and you can have a bad signal if the monitor resolution on the PC is set too high. This could happen if you installed a high-resolution capable monitor, and then replaced it with a not-completely-plug-and-play, lower resolution one. The PC would keep sending hi-res signals to a monitor which can neither interpret them, nor tell the PC "please slow down". To check this last possibility, reboot your computer while the monitor is ON. When PCs reboot, they usually drop back to standard VGA signaling, which all monitors understand. If the monitor abruptly comes to life and displays a boot screen, then goes No Signal again after several seconds, you've got a resolution issue; get in Safe Mode with F8 key at boot, and modify the screen properties (right-mouse button on the desktop, then Properties).

If everything else fails, try also connecting the monitor to another PC or laptop, to see if it works there.

Greetings,
Usually that happen once the resolution of your monitor cannot meet the desire need, it depends the kind of monitor that you have even if you change different kind of video card, its still happend.
Try to change the resolution to lower one.
Here's the step
1. right click on the desktop ( a place where there is not icon on your screen)
2. choose properties
3. then settings
4. adjust the screen resolution to lower settings some on the color setting
5. then ok.
Thanks.

Cannot remove "input signal out of range"

input signal out of range would normally indicate the the screen resoloution is either too high or too low for the monitor to display properly.
