My gas fireplace shuts off after burning about five minutes - both main burner and pilot shut off.

Most fire place burners have an oxygen depletion sensor on them nowadays. If you can restart it after a while, a few minutes or so, and shuts off, it is probably the oxygen sensor. The owner lights fireplace and shuts the door, and the fire depletes the available oxygen and the fire will start producing copious amounts of CO which is a hazard. Most fireplaces have a fresh air supply available to provide combustion air but needs to be opened for the fireplace to work properly. Check the manufactures recommendation as to the proper installation of the fireplace furnace.
Hope this helps

P0131 sabb 93 2001 po121 error codes

P0131 - O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1 (sensor is before the catalytic converter)

Possible causes- Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 harness is open or shorted
- Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1
- Inappropriate fuel pressure
- Faulty fuel injectors
- Intake air leaks may be faulty
- Exhaust gas leaks
P0132 - O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1
Possible causes- Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 harness is open or shorted
- Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1
- Inappropriate fuel pressure
- Faulty fuel injectors
- Intake air leaks may be faulty
- Exhaust gas leaks

I am not really sure what is going on here with the same O2 sensor giving these lean and rich codes, if nothing else is apparent and the engine runs well you may have a defective O2 sensor.

We have a Rinnai REH-15F-2A natural gas heater (approx 15 yrs old). it has just started going out, it doesn't leak gas. is this something repairable or beyond repair? thanks tameka

Tameka, what you described sounds like the Thermocouple or Thermopile is failing. If your heater is a Flue-less heater, the Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) which is part of the Pilot assembly, may simply need cleaning. Any of the causes I listed are repairable and would require a service technician to do it.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know.

I have a everdure 6 burner gas heater. its pretty old and works sometimes. the problem is that it take a while to turn on and once it started it just turns its self off with in minutes. this happens...

Your flue-less gas heater may simply need a a good interior cleaning and servicing. From what you described it sounds like the Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) may be clogged with dust, lint etc. The ODS is part of the pilot assembly and constantly reads the oxygen level in the room, when the heater is in use.If the oxygen level drops to 25% the ODS shuts the unit OFF by closing the gas valve. This can occur if the ODS is dirty, because it's falsely reading the oxygen level.

One other thing that can mimic this problem is a faulty Thermocouple. With age, they wear out. It's also a safety feature that controls the gas flow to the pilot.

Everything I have mentioned is repairable. But, if you want to make it a DIY project, it will require some dismantling of the heater cabinet to access everything and replace parts. If the heater is as you say "pretty old", you may want to consider buying a new heater. Sometimes, it's just not worth the time and effort to repair an old heater.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.
