Problem with Panasonic Projection Televisions

I have a Panasonic ET-LAE700 Replacement Lamp with Blue Haze

I have a Panasonic ET-LAE700 Replacement Lamp for the Panasonic AE700U projection that after less than 200 hours is now showing a blue haze on the right hand side of the screen. Do you know why that is occurring and should the manufacturer replace it? The first lamp lasted about 3 years and 2,000 hours

The optical block is most likely causing the problem. It will continue to get worse. Sony may help with the repair since they have had a lot of problems over the years with their optical blocks across many models. On the older sets they usually only help with the parts cost. The average repair cost for a optical block replacement is $1200.00 to $1500.00. So if they help with the parts cost it really brings the cost down. Their customer service number is 1800-222-SONY.
I hope this helps,

    • I have the same exact problem. Replaced my bulb 3-4 weeks before, now i have a blue haze in the corner with blue specs. I have always trusted Sony. I am sickened.

Sounds like the light engine is going bad...that's why they stopped making these rear projection sets using LCD's. Costs almost as much as a new set! But get a second opinion before trashing it.
