Question about SanDisk Cruzer Micro 8GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive

1 Answer

Does not work on my hp pavillion a265c work station running windows xp, but it works ok with my Dell Latitude D830. Dell opens with drive F: as being available for the Cruzer partition. With the HP pavillion, the next available drive is J: and beyond since the HP has lots of storage peripherals (C: thru I:)

Most likely your device is coded to use drive letter F: on any computer, and because that letter is already assigned to another drive on your HP, it isn't showing up.

Open your start menu, and right click on MY COMPUTER. Select MANAGE from the list that comes up. When the management console comes up, select DISK MANAGEMENT in the left-hand column.

From here, you will need to locate the drive that represents your Cruiser. Just look for the drive that has the capacity of about 8Gig, and it probably won't have a drive letter assigned to it.

Once found, right-click the drive, and choose CHANGE DRIVE LETTERS AND PATHS. From here, if there is a letter assigned to it, you will need to CHANGE the drive letter to one that is not already in use. If there is not letter assigned, you will need to select ADD and assign a letter that is not already in use by your computer. OK out of everything, and you should now see your drive in the list, and can use it.

Dell Latitude D830 instant off whenever loud sound played

Either that or the battery is near the end of its life and when a big spike in current is needed it fails so the voltage drops and the processor chokes, instantly shutting it down.

How do i get a CD to play on the Dell Latitude computter

There are two reasons why windows will not automatically run a disc when it is inserted the first reason is someone has manually configured the settings "to do nothing" when it detects a disc,; the other reason is your drive is not working.

I will assume it is the first one. In that case open My Computer and right click your CD/DVD drive if it is an audio disc just select play, if it is a system disc select explore then Auto Run to run the program.
