1. Pull the RAM and Reseat it..
2. Check the Fan/Heatsink to see if Clogged
3. Check AC Adapter with a multimeter to see if it's supplying power
4. Check DC Jack on the motherboard (the port where your Charger Plug Plugs into)

Laptop crashes and wont keep charged battery

Crashes when? What are you doing when it crashes? When it crashes does it boot right back up or do you have to wait a while then it will boot back up?

The laptop might be running hot or has a virus, but you'll need to answer the questions above to really isolate what is going on.

As for the battery not charging, either the Power Cord is bad or the battery is bad. If the power cord is good, it would normally charge the battery unless the battery is dead. Batteries only have a useful life and last for so long, then they have to be replaced.

Maybe your DC Power Jack where the Power Cord plugs into the laptop is bad. That would cause the laptop to crash (shut down) and it would also keep the battery from charging.

Take an ink pen and push the tip inside the jack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have to take the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto the motherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.

1026laptop was working then all of a sudden the screen cut out and tried rebooting and nothing works but the power icon is on and the battery shows charge did the laptop crash

A crash is possible. I however think you have a power or overheating problem. If after the laptop cools it reboots, then it is a heating problem. If it doesn't, let it charge over night. If it boots then, you have a power problem. If which case the adapter or the power connector is at fault.

Is the AC Power adapter the original adapter of the laptop? If it is, try to drain the battery and charge it for 8-12 hours without using or opening the laptop just charge it. After charging, remove the power adapter as you open your laptop. Make this way a habbit of using and charging your laptop to make the charging and battery life last long.

Doesnt turn on, when it does it turns right off after just a few minutes

Remove the battery and try turning it on with jut the power adapter connected. Could be the adapter is bad and not charging the battery.

Charging problems

Hopefully the battery is just confused and needs to be reset. Drain the battery down until the system shuts off automatically, then take the battery out of the laptop for two minutes and plug it back in, and connect the AC adapter, let it charge without turning the laptop on, then turn it on and hopefully it should work fine again. If not then you may need to buy another battery. Try again with another AC adapter just in case because you don't want to replace your battery (expensive!)

Please rate, thanks!

Lenovo z51t, no indication of life when power up

Try this. Turn off unit. Unplug charger. Take out battery. Replug charger - not battery. Turn on computer. If it comes on the battery has a glitch and should recover after an hour or so. If it doesn't come on, the unit needs to see a reputable computer repairperson.

Good Luck
