Does the red lead connection on top of the flyback transformer unplug. ? I am afraid to pull very hard on it. It is covered with a bullet shaped boot.
Do not touch the flyback...DANGEROUS HIGH voltage. You have to have professional equipment to mess with it!
I am sorry ,I did not mean for you to take it that way.The capacitor holds high amounts of voltage for a long time, even after it has been disconnected.I watched my electronics instructor years ago get shocked when discharging a unit that had been unplugged for days and he was using the proper equipment.Again I apoloize if I have offended you in any way.I just didn't want you to get hurt and I was just replying as fast as I read you question.

I am not an idiot, NOT going to touch it with the power on. Please answer the very simple original question!

Yes thankyou, I did plan to discharge it, I have been zapped before also. I cannot get this RP 61 inch into service position without pulling one the 3 high voltage leads. I have never had this problem before. I think it was put together wrong at the factory and the lead wire is too short to slide the chassis out. Is there a procedure for this removal of the lead from the HV transfmormer.
