Remove and observe the ribbon, wind the feedwheel to see if the ribbon if moving at all. Make sure that the correction tape is not in front of the printheel and installed properly. (electronic machines use non-sticky lift-off tapes).. Observe the hammer movement. The ribbon winder in the cartrige could be defective, the ribbon ffeed mechanism in the machine may need repair/replacement. Make sure there is a printwheel in the machine.

Why doesn't my new corrector ribbon/ink ribbon work? The wheel advances-nothing shows on paper.
Put in a multi-part form, type if the carbon is OK the problem is with the ribbon. Look at the ribbon if there is an impression on the ribbon but no ink transfer the ribbon is very ols, if there is no impression then the ribbon isn't lifting. THere ix a 2" black gear on the right side of the printer it should move easily if not wiggle it back and forth they get tooth for tooth with the drive gear.

CANNOT PRINT FROM COMPUTER
Check:
1. Is it plugged in?
2. Is it wired from computer to printer or is it wirelessly networked?
3. Are the proper drivers installed on your computer?
4. When the print box appears on the screen, is the printer the correct type and model being used?
5. Is there paper in tray?
6.Are there any warnings showing on the printer? (ie. paper jam)

That's all I've got.

Letters don't show on paper no imprint on ribbon. keys sound like they are typing but nothing shows on paper
Chances are that the print head is not locked forward. This happens when the daisy wheel or either of the ribbons are replaced. Just push it forward until it clicks

I have an IBM Personal Wheelwriter. New ribbon and type does show when typing. Any ideas?
IF UNIT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS TYPING BUT NOTHING SHOWS ON PAPER, THEN THE BUMPER PAD ON THE HAMMER SOLENOID HAS FALLEN APART AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. MOST TYPEWRITER REPAIR COMPANIES SHOULD HAVE THIS PART IN STOCK AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO REPLACE IT IN ABOUT 30 MINUTES.
