Question about Philips DVP3962 DVD Player

1 Answer

The colors are wrong on the screen. everything is orange and green and pink. just started after 6 months of perfect play. changed hdmi cord and port and that didn't help. it may be from overheating, but is there a way to fix it?

Not a solution, but this will still allow you to watch DVDs until you carefully research customer feedback on DVD players. (Which I didn't do when I bought my DVP3962!)

That happened to me after 6 months. I used the A/V cables, then after a week or so I tried HDMI again. It worked for another 5 months, and is now crazy colors again.

I'm sorry, I didn't have this info for you in my previous post. This is from another site:
"...the screen turns pink or orange; it develops lines and other anomalies; or sometimes the audio disappears. Reportedly, one of the color channels in the HDMI connection is inherently defective. Frequently, powering off and back on takes care of these things, but that such an interruption should be necessary indicates unpardonable engineering carelessness--and it has not been addressed, to my knowledge, in the frequent downloadable firmware corrections available on the Philips web site."
There we have it. Buy a different brand next time, huh?

Hello, My name is Diane. I've had my flat screen Acer monitor for 14 months and all of a sudden my monitor has no red, orange or pink color. My screen colors are green, blue and yellow. What is the...

hello Diane, actually yellow is mixed red and green.
I thing you should check your cbf cable first (VGA cable).
Or if you have pattern test, use it to make sure which color has lost.
Change VGA cable may can solve it.
If any problem, please let me know.
Thanks and good luck.

It green screens after 10 mins

Hi,
Are you using hdmi cable. If so your hdtv needs to have it's hdmi port reset .First unplug everything even the TV and xbox. Then disconnect everything and unplug every thing from the wall outlets. Then plug the TV back in and hook everything back up. The HDTV even with the power off can have it's hdmi port bumped so you need to unplug it to reset the ports.
Thank you

Does the Samsung PN58B650 need a minute to warm up the first time you turn it on every day? When I turn on the TV for the first time every day, the picture is there but the colors on the screen are pink...

I swapped out the HDMI cable with standard component cables. The picture and sound is perfect. Later I will swap again with a different HDMI cable to confirm if the problem is a bad cable or if the TV has a problem with HDMI.

XBOX Live plays back with pink hue

*YOU DO NOT NEED TO SWITCH TO STANDARD DEFINITION*

To view the videos via HDMI, you need to switch the HDMI Color Space setting to "RGB". To do this go through:

My Xbox > System Settings > Console Settings > Display > HDMI Color Space > and from there select RGB

I had this same issue when watching movies from a USB flash drive and this worked perfect, so I hope this helps those of you who love your HDMI as much as I do.

My xbox colors are messed up

How is the 360 connected to the TV? This sounds like your component cables are attached wrong. make sure red, green, and blue are connected to the corresponding jacks.

Unable to get full color, imges often turns pink/orange

Hi!
Go into the menu settings and check whether it has a warmth tint function o, if on then turn it off and adjust the settings accordingly.

If this doesn't work then Maybe a power surge has damaged the box. Try using a different scart/hdmi cable which you know works... it could be a damaged wire.
If not, unplug the box and leave it with nothing connected for 24 hours to get rid of the static and try again. Thanks Rylee

Why does the screen turn green when i hook hdmi cord up

I had the same problem.... Occasionally when I changed stations, the screen went totally green.
What fixed the problem was to NOT use a HDMI cord at all! Instead I got a cord made up of five separate "prong" cords (like we use to hook up the old VCR's with ), all with different color-coded prongs that individually get inserted into the corresponding colored holes in the back of the Cable box and into the TV. I got this special cord from my cable company Comcast.

your a/v cords may be fried along with the ports... and did you ever turn the xbox OFF before you went to bed? if not, you could have:
1. fried the leds
or
2. overheated the motherboard.

try getting a new a/v cord and check the ports on your tv. are you hooked up to HDMI? if so, you might have put them in the wrong slots somehow or the ports might have been shot.
