Is it 220 volt.or 110 volt?
If you will come back,I will help you figure this out,o k?
Ok,then you have got two wires crossed somewhere,
Put the green to ground, and one of the input lines goes straight to the motor. The other one goes to the speed switch, and one will come off the speed switch to the motor. let me know if you get this.
sounds right, but the configuration from there on is not right, either, black goes all the way to the motor, and the white should go to the switch, then from the switch,to the motor.or the colors can be the other way around, either way.
The green does go to copper that one is right, let me know how it is wired.
Yes,this is so,thee unit, was it new? or second hand?If you will get back with me,I will help you solve this,I can give you my email, and it will be easier,If you like?Just let them know if I was any help at all,and I will thank you for it,but I will be here until we figure this out,>>[email protected]

110 volt
I wondered if wiring was correct, but it looked pretty simple. I connected black to black, white to white and green to naked copper wire.
Sounds more complicated than it appeared. There was a line coming out of the unit with black, white and green. But it is perhaps used only with something manual calls a cable locking connector (whatever that is for).
So I may have to take it apart find where to connect to motor and switch. Probably there is a wiring diagram somewhere inside hood.
It was new. It is late here so I think I will wait until tomorrow to take it apart and look for wiring instructions. You have been helpful. Thought I might have done something wrong.
Roniecon was helpful. We have not fixed hood yet, but thanks to Roniecon, we have some idea where to begin.
