Remote control for Technics RS TR 272 Dual Cassette Deck

I want to know if there is a remote control available for my Technics RS TR 272 Dual Cassette Deck. I have a Technics AV Receiver whos remote allows me to control recording (on deck 2), playback, rewind and f-forward in the forward direction. But when auto-reverse is active, and I am playing back or recording on the 'reverse' side, I can't stop or pause the tape, and then start again continuing the tape in the same direction using the remote. The player automatically switches back to playing or recording on side A. I have to manually press the left arrow (side B playback) on the cassette deck (either deck 1 or 2) to keep playing or recording on side B. Is there a remote control available (even if it's not a Technics remote) that will allow recording and playback in both the forward AND reverse direction? Some retailers I have checked with say there is no remote control for the TR 272, but there are other Technics devices whos remotes can control the cassette deck (which I have a Technics SA DX 930 AV Receiver w/remote, but it only does what I stated above.) Any advise or suggestions can be directed to

Might have the wrong model of remote or your system might be connected wrong.

A system remote is the only option for you here. The deck does not have its own remote receiver. Sorry to break the bad news to you.

What remote control do need for this unit

Currys Partmaster do have spare parts for this deck and they do have Technics Remotes, but you will have to look for it there. If you have the user manual it could list the part number of the remote. This will make it easier to track it down.

I need to know how to record 1 tape onto another tape on a Technics rs tr-575 dual cassette deck

press the synchro start button, the tape deck should now go to REC PAUSE, press the SPEED button till you get the required recording speed then press the synchro start again and it should start to record from deck 1 to deck 2.

make sure the tabs at the top of the tape you want to record on are intact,
if not just put a bit of sticky tape over holes.

hope this helps?

Power to technics rs-t24 dual deck

I own a RS-T24 as well and stumbled upon this thread while searching for this exact same solution. The RS-T24 generates no power on its own. It gets its power from, in my case, the SU-V75 amplifier. I still have a working SU-V75 and got the following readings out of the plug-in for the RS-T24 on the amp:

Left = pin 1 - (white wire)
Middle = pin 2
Right = pin 3

1-2 = 11.5 vac
1-3 = 23.0 vac
2-3 = 11.5 vac

Technics RS-TR272 Dual - Won't Reverse

Cassette decks that have been sitting for long periods have problems with drive belts and idlers becoming slack or decomposing of the rubber compound. If you wish to keep the unit, please have it cleaned and have belts/idlers replaced with new ones by a professional service. Also have controls and switches cleaned of built up tarnish and mildew to prevent noisey or drop-out audio

Just connect you EQ to your receiver as if it were a tape deck: EQ's outs connect to receiver's tape ins (play) and EQ's ins connect to receiver's tape outs (record).

Then you hook the tape deck up to the tape ins and outs on the EQ: Tape deck outs connect to EQ's tape ins (play) and tape deck ins connect to EQ's tape outs (record).

This will put the EQ in your receiver's tape loop. To hear the EQed signal with all receiver sources you'll need to engage the 'Tape Monitor' button or switch which will route the tape loop to the speakers.
