Question about IBM ThinkPad T41 Notebook
If there is no "physical" switch on the front or either side, then you can use the Fn key plus the F key with the WiFi icon on it...
Make sure to press both keys at the same time ... a 2 key combination...

I'm not sure I understand. Answer these questions and I'll be able to assist. Is the cable your referring to the ethernet cable or cable internet service? Do you have a wireless router with your internet service? If so, then is the ethernet cable attached and connected to the internet while attempting to connect wirelessly? List any other info you think may be pertinent to the problem, and I'll be able to help.

Unfortunately you cannot download the recovery CD for free, you can download them but it is going to cost you.

IF.. you cant use a button/slider, and there is no FN key set to turn it on, control panel / network devices / right click on the wifi adapter and enable
