Just by chance Step 1 Turn your Feather Lite so that it's facing away from you. Reach down toward the floor and grab the bottom of the handle. Pull it up until it locks in place. Look at the back of your vacuum and you'll see three rounded clips. Wrap the hose so that it fits into each of these clips and the wand is hanging down on the right side.

  • Step 2 Move to the front of the appliance and look towards the floor. You will see a round knob on the base, near the middle. Turn this knob until its setting matches the surface you are cleaning; for example, it needs to be at a lower setting if you are cleaning thick pile carpet.
  • Step 3 Unwrap the cord from the back of the appliance and plug it in. Flip the switch on the front of the handle to turn it on. Push the pedal on the back of the base with your foot to release the handle. Simply push the machine back and forth to vacuum the floor.
  • Step 4 Stand the cleaner upright to use the hose for cleaning hard to reach areas. Pull the hose out of its clips and place one of the attachments that came with the machine on the end of the wand. They will twist on easily. Run the attachment over the area you'd like to clean. Replace the hose when you're finished and put the attachments in their appropriate slots on the back of the machine.
  • Step 5 Turn off the machine by flipping the switch and roll up the hose and cord for storage. Find the release button on the side of the handle near the top of the dirt container. While pushing it in, fold the handle back down. Always store the Feather Lite Carpet Cleaner in an upright have you checked to see if the belt has broken?

I have a dirt devil featherlite carpet shampooer. It has been a great one for about five years without any problems. I need to know if anyone knows where I can find the replacement filters?

    Hi There,

We actually do carry the foam filter for your Dirt Devil Featherlite (also manufactured as the Easy Steamer) carpet cleaner.

According to the Dirt Devil parts diagram for the CE6000, your machine takes the following foam filter. Here's a direct link to the filter on our website:
Dirt Devil Featherlite, Easy Steamer Foam Filter Part# 1-700750-600

Here's a link for the parts diagram for your Dirt Devil Featherlite CE6000 carpet cleaner. This will give you all of the part numbers, and drawings for each part on your machine should need any further parts:

I hope this helped. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to use the comment field here on the repair page to contact me, I'm always happy to answer any follow up questions.

If you found this repair helpful, please be so kind and rate the repair helpful and / or leave feedback for me. Thanks so much!
