Question about D-Link DIR-625 (790069292637) Wireless Router

Connecting to my DIR625

I have owned my DIR625 for some time now and for the most part it has worked flawlessly. I recently had to install a new mother board. Unfortunatly, now I have problems. The motherboard has a Yukon ethernet card built in. If I hook up my modem directly, no problems I have a internet connection. When I hook up my router, the PC will not recognize the DIR625. I can't run the install disk and the PC does not recognize that anything is connected to it. However, the router is working fine as I am able to still pick up the wirless signal on other units. So, I have to assume that the ethernet connection works as does the router. Am I missing a setting somewhere? There has to be a simple solution as to why VISTA will not recognize the hardware.
I appreciate any help.

One thing you might want to check is your firewall settings. Not the windows firewall but 3rd party firewall like Norton Internet Security. It will block your connection if it detects a different network. Also check the LED lights on the router, if you plug in an ethernet cable, does the light lite up on the corresondping Lan.

Are you connecting to your own wireless router? If yes, have you changed anything in its configuration, or inadvertently reset it? If you're connecting to someone else's router (neighbor, etc.) it could be that they have locked you out. Does the wireless network show as secured? This sounds more like a security issue than hardware or driver.

The batteries (2 AAA) are made as a back up for the clock and alarms only, and would not be powerful enough to run the radio on their own.

Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse Not Connecting

I have the same mouse and I had to install the intellipoint 6.1 software that came with it, and it worked flawlessly. Then I sold a few of them that I had and mixed up the dongles in the sales and now none of them work. Trying to figure out if I can force a recognition or are they proprietary to only one mouse. Go to microsoft and see if the intellipoint 6.1 is a download.

I have always advised folk to leave the software disk in the box when connecting cameras and the like to a NTFS system. Plug it into USB port and Windoze will find it. Should be the same with Vista I guess Leave the disk in the box- or of you have installed stuff uninstall it. And let Windoze do the work.
