Question about Washing Machines

2 Answers

Whenever the washer gets into a spin cycle, it is extremely loud shaking the whole house. I was informed that there are some screws that hold the basket, which should have been removed but were not removed during the product installation. I couldn't find any info about those screws in the installation manual. How can I make the washer quite during the spin cycle? Please help.

Where should I be looking for the ties and/or the screws? Are those inside the washer (do I have to break anything apart to get to it)? Or just in the back of the washer? Can you please post step-by-step for dummies? (I'm not technical)

It is ~5 months old and has been used twice, so it's brand new.
Thank you for your comment. I'll have my technician come in on Monday and give it a shot, and then reply here.

    Thank you again.

It has always done it. That's why it has been used only a couple of times (couldn't really use it because it was too loud and only now got around to fixing it). The washer is in a closet and has a dryer on top of it, so it'll have to wait for the technician. I don't have access to the back. I'll keep you posted in 2 days or so.

    Thank you very much again.

Hi,

Here are the two things that may be causing this washer to shake or move!
If one spring is bad it will do this action.
Then change all the springs together.

Suspension Springs
If one or more of the suspension springs are weak or broken, the tub will move excessively and the machine will be off balance and shake .

Suspension pads
Check to make sure the suspension pads or suspension arms are properly in place. Replace as necessary.

Let me know how it goes!!

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Most of the time they are plastic ties, look on the back of the unit, and see if you see any, just break them,if there are screws they will be ovious, just remove them.

Different makes and models, and years, but they should ber in the back,if not turn the machine over on the front, and look under it.

If it is 5 months old and used twice, did it do this before? It is not to hard take your time and look, they should stick out the back,it will be a plastic tab, just pull on them real hard and they will break loose.

The tabs are white,or blue or orange,so you can see them.

GE Front Load washer shakes whenever any type of load is put in. GE service has been out at least 4 times and say that its fine..perfectly level, etc

All front loaders shake to some extent. It depends on the balance of the load. It is especially evident in the spin cycle due to the high speeds. Also these machines are best placed on a solid cement floor. They can shake an entire house if on the first or second floor and the floors are not well reinforced.

Model WFW83005W05, Serial HLY1329780. It shakes the whole room when spinning, even when we put it on the lowest spin.

There are springs that hold the tub in a balanced position. If they're loose the spin cycle will shake the washer too much. The springs can be tightened with a wrench and stop this from happening.

It shakes so violently, it knocked 2 holes in the wall. During the spin cycle, it also turned completely around backwards!! It's so loud it practically shakes the whole house.

take bottom panel off, check the shocks,if it is making loud noise it's probably spider gear,if you keep using it the boot could rip off and you'll have a flood, get rid of washer it will cost as much to fix washer that you could buy a new one but that's up to you to decide

Spin cycle shakes the whole house everytime why

check first if any of the legs are not sitting flat on ground, check the roughness of bearings by placing your hand in the drum and rotate slowly back and forth, loose balance weight could also be a cause but id say it sounds like bearings
