Question about Televison & Video
The blue spots on your sony TV is a optical block issue, it's just that usually you can see these spots on a dark screen or for a few seconds when you turn the power off, since the bulb stays on.
If there is a spot or other issue that is absolutely stationary and is there regardloess of input or screen format, it has to be the optical block. It's possible that Sony may cover this under warranty, so I would advice you contacting a Sony authorized service provider and see what they say.
If it's not going to be covered, this will be an expensive repair to have a new Sony optical block installed. But there are rebuilt optical blocks available, and that is worth looking into.

First thing to do is see if the problem is coming from inside the tv set ,if the tv set gets too dusty inside the compartment these can happen where you start seeing blue spots green lines etc... going along the screen. Moreover on the link below you should have step by step on how to clean the inside of your tv set ,be very carefull when doing this the tv set does carry high voltage, unplug the tv set before you start. If after cleaning, the Problem still persist then you might want to change out your lamp (optical block) which is going bad or already bad.
One more site to check out seems to be very helpful fix for a lot of problems with projection TVs. Read the whole thing, it is informative and has helped many people who thought they would have to buy a new TV.
I hope this helps and good luck!
