Mikallryan, Here is a rule to follow when dealing with most electronic devices. Larger devices such as PC's, printers, monitors, small screen crt tv's, large crt tv's, should not be operated untill the unit has been in THAT envrionment for at least 5 to 10 hours. Going from very cold to hot envrionment is even worse. Double the time before operating the device. Here is a worst case of WHAT NOT TO DO! You start watching the CHIEF's football game in the garage where the temp is 20deg. Two minutes later you decide it's too cold out there. you unlug the set and tote it to the house and plug it in. Moisture will now start to form on the cold electronic components and could cause a problem you won't want to deal with. Got It! hope this helped! 12fixlouie

Wichita Kansas, capastor is no good where can I find one

A replacement is readily available at any appliance parts supply house. Take your old one in with you and they'll give you a "matchemup". (Match them up, or replacement in kind).

Refrigerator/freezer in garage not freezing

Most refrigerator Manufactures have tested these machines in hot and cold weather and weather will effect operation and electricity consuption.
As far as cold weather goes It would run much better in cold weather than hot. As far as it being in the garage : It will wear on it faster. The humidity is not good on them and they get more dirt through the system and will need its normal mantenance more often. not to mention bugs and rodents like to find a warm place to hid with fee dinking water and a refrigerator provides that for them.

Can an LCD tv be kept in the garage without damage?

Well, It depends on the conditions of where you live.
Too much dust and moisture will cause a lot of problems.
Getting too cold will cause moisture to condense.
Getting too hot will cause parts inside not to cool off properly.
The TV should be ok as long as you keep it in a cool, dry place.

Frigidaire Freezer Runs Warm in Cold Weather

hi there the problem you have is that the temp in the garage is to low, the fridge part of your fridge freezer has priority and will only activate the compressor when req'd ie. in cold weather the fridge may not need to switch on the compressor for days at a time this is when the freezer will defrost.
All you can try doing is having some very low heating in your garage in the cold weather

hope this is of help.
