HI,

Now there are 2 ways to fix this issue.

FIRST METHOD:

Connect your iPod to your pc

  1. Make sure you have enabled viewing of Hidden files and folders in windows explorer, if not Open Windows Explorer -> Tools (Menu) -> Folder Options -> View -> Show hidden files and folders.
  2. Open "My Computer" and then double-click your iPod device icon to open its file-system, now navigate to folder "iPod_Control" -> "Device" folder.
forgot the code to get - 01956f0.png

4)You will see a file named _locked rename this to _unlocked, now to reset the password open the file in notepad and delete all contents in it and save.

Now, Eject the iPod and reset it.Your iPod Screenlock is now disabled.

If you don't know how to reset ipod then here are the instructions:
  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

SECOND METHOD:

If you are not an advanced pc user then you can use this method. But i highy recommend the FIRST METHOD To fix this issue.

Screen Lock only locks users out of the user interface. It does not encrypt data on your iPod. For example, if you use Screen Lock and then connect your iPod to a computer, you'll be able to manage music on your iPod with iTunes and access all data on it in disk mode (contacts, notes, and any other files you have stored on the iPod). This support document also provides additional information on locking and unlocking the iPod. According to Apple, if you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the iPod by doing the following:
Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked. If you can't unlock iPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod. If you want to change the primary computer that your iPod is associated with, do this: 1. Restore your iPod. Warning: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data. 2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer. 3. Open iTunes and synchronize. Apple also notes that company "representatives cannot unlock an iPod if you forget your combination. If you can't unlock your iPod and you don't have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the iPod, which will erase all music and data."

Thank you for using fixya.

Hi To remove the code from the ipod, you must restore it. How to restore your iPod: For Windows: 1. Make sure you've reinstalled the latest version of iTunes. 2. Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer. 3. After a few moments, it will appear in the source list in iTunes. 4. Select your iPod in the source list and you will see information about it appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes windows. 5. Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download of the latest iPod Software. The 4 possible restore options are: Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod. Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod even though a newer version is available. Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer. Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer. 6. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will instruct you to leave iPod connected to your computer to complete restore. 7. During the stage 2 of the restore process, the iPod will show an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remains connected to the computer or iPod Power adapter during this stage. Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see since the backlight on the iPod display may be off. 8. After stage 2 of the restore process is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time. IF YOU HAVE A IPONE OR IPOD TOUCH THEN YOUR IPOD NEESD TO BE SET INTO RECOVERY MODE - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 The above page has the instructions for that. Thanks, Ekse

YOU NEED THE CABLE BETWEEN THE COMPUTER AND THE IPOD, IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE CABLE, DID YOU STEAL THE IPOD? RETURN IT TO THE OWNER OR TAKE IT TO THE POLICE.

SOURCE: 8GB APPLE IPOD

According to Apple, if you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the IPod by doing the following:
Connect your IPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one IPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the
computer, it will no longer be locked.
If you can't unlock IPod using either [the code or connecting it to the
computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to
factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase
all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back
to your iPod.
If you want to change the primary computer that your IPod is associated
with, do this:
1. Restore your iPod. Warning: The restore process cannot be undone.
All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of
your important data.
2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary
computer.
3. Open iTunes and synchronize.
Apple also notes that company "representatives cannot unlock an iPod if
you forget your combination. If you can't unlock your iPod and you don't
have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the
IPod, which will erase all music and data."
Good Luck, I hope this helps

If you have a code to input then it will be one that you put in. If you cannot remember it or do not have it, then download the latest version of itunes from apple.com and plug your ipod into the computer. Then click on the ipod image on the left hand pane of the screen and when the ipod page opens choose to retore, this will take the ipod back to its original settings.
