Wrong, You have to remove the front panel with the door by removing two phillips screws at the bottom front. Then remove the two 5/16" hex head screws at the front corners that hold the top on.

I have gas dryer, model SDG4606, and the light inside drum does not work. How do I replace it?

When you open the door on your dryer your light bulb is located at the top of the opening. There will be a clear plastic cover over it that is held in place by one screw. Remove the screw and allow the cover to hinge away from the opening. The bulb is Maytag part number 67001316.

How to remove the front panel of a maytag neptune gas dryer

Removal of the front panel requires the removal of the top cover and the console. Disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Remove the 2 screws attaching the top cover to the rear of the dryer then slide it rearward to clear the screw head from the top cover flange and lift the cover off the dryer cabinet.

Remove the screws securing the heater PCB board and disconnect the black and white wiring harness connectors from the board.

Remove the four screws attaching the console to the washer cabinet and rotate the console down to remove it from the dryer.

Remove the four screws attaching the top of the front panel to the cabinet and the two screws at the bottom of the door opening.

Pull the front panel forward and disconnect the interior light wiring harness then lift the front panel off the tabs across the bottom and move it away from the dryer.

Reinstall the front panel, the console, and the top cover in reverse of the removal steps.

Maytag dryer model mdg5500aww

OPEN THE DOOR AND REMOVE THE TWO SCREWS IN THE MIDDLE OF EACH HINGE. LOOK AT THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE OPENING AND REMOVE TWO SCREWS FROM THAT SIDE ALSO. PULL FRONT TOWARD YOU FROM THE TOP. IT IS HINGED AT THE BOTTOM. ONCE THE TOP IS FREE, LIFT THE FRONT OFF THE HINGES. THERE IS A CLIP HOLDING THE TOP TO THE CABINET AT THE FRONT CORNERS. REMOVE THE SCREWS HOLDING THE CLIPS IN PLACE AND SWING THE CLIPS TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT TO REMOVE THEM. THE TOP SHOULD SWING UP AND TO THE BACK AT THIS TIME. IT IS HINGED AT THE BACK.

How to remove a back panel of maytag neptune dryer?

You have a choice for which side front door should be on this model. There are 4 screws on front door. Take all 4 screws and pull down the front panel. You will see two metal parts each side which holds top panel. Remove two screws and metal parts. Now you can push up the top panel.
