Kodak p850 Help!! error code

I've had my Kodak p850 since '05. It has worked great since I bought it. But yesterday I turn it on and when I try to review the pictures stored in the camera, it beeps, the screen turns blue and it says "Camer error #". Then it won't do anything else. Please someone tell me there's hope!

Re: Kodak p850 Help!! error code

Also having same problem after 18 months of no problems. As well, camera will not read memory cards which I have used in this camera almost since new. Format card, still no read. Sometimes when I take first photo, lens retracts as though camera is powering off but then changes it's mind and is o.k.

If you just purchased this camera, you can try phoning place of purchase or make a trip there. It sounds as if the software in camera may be messed up.

P850 shuts itself off for no reason

Try using a liquid contact cleaner. I read about this fix on another site, worked great for me.
A product called DeoxIT in the U.S. is what was suggested, I am in Canada and can't get that here so I picked up a product from a company called NexxTech. Just a liquid contact cleaner.
Take out the battery of the camera. Put a few small drops of the contact cleaner on the power button and let it drip down into the switch. Rotate the on/off switch back and forth 5-10 times, put the battery back in and Voila! Fixed!
No more random on/off irritations, camera works just like it did before the problem arose a few weeks ago.
It worked great for me.
Good Luck!
