Question about Manhattan 1100 Computer Speakers

Open Question

Sound does not come from the speakers during the cold start. I need to take the system to standby and then the speakers start working. I have checked the power supply to the speakers and found that the speakers are powering up OK. The drivers installed are showing up to date. Further start ups are no problems but the problem reoccurs if the system is turned on after about a gap of 2-3 hours. Can somebody suggest a resolution? Thanks in advance.

2008 avalanche intermittent sound from speakers.

if its the doors then the seal on the speakers is letting water in and shorting out the speaker and causing the other speakers to do the same as the amp is being overloaded over time you will need a new radio as it will blow the amp in it. safety device will not keep saving the amp.

When watching a DVD, if i choose the Dolby ProLogic IIX Movie sound mode, the receiver powers off completely whenever a loud scene occurs. During slower and quieter dialog scenes it is fine, but the moment...

The Troubleshooting section of the manual starts with some suggestions. Check your speaker imoedance settings and make sure you're not presenting too LOW an impedance to the amplifiers.

The manual says the Dolby Pro Logic IIX mode would not be available if "SB L/R SP" is set to "NONE", which it should be if you're set up for 5.1 instead of 7.1. It's not clear what happens if you have the Surround Back speakers defined but not connected. Probably no harm but the receiver is likely trying to channel some information to non-existent speakers.

Since there's a parametric equalizer built in I'd check to make sure it's not set for bizarre boost in the bass.

The more bells and buzzers they provide for adjustment, the more opportunities for MALadjustment.

Just a wild guess. Are you over-taxing the wall outlets or power source feeding everything; or do you have excessive draw on the receiver's convenience outlets? 100 watts maximum is allowed between them.

Cannot get sound out of the system

Was everything working before you connected the new blue ray? Start by trouble shooting the receiver by starting over. Unplug everything except speakers. Switch to FM tuner, tune in a local station and see if you get any sound. Be sure you have the correct A or B speakers selected. This unit also has different sound options and default should be on "2 way" so only the two front speakers are to receive a signal.
If you get nothing, turn the volume to max and let us know if you get even a faint buzz. Follow up with results.

Ihave a sava-500 home theater speaker system i dont have the cord to connect the 2 tower speakers will this affect the sound from the main speaker using the av input

With not all the speakers hooked up, it will definitly effect the sound. The unit is designed to channel different sounds to certain speakers. That's what makes you feel like "you are there" If you have lost the cords to the tower speakers, you can buy replacements. Go to where you bought the unit, a Radio Shack, or other store that sells home theater systems. Enjoy your system like it was designed .

No sound either

do the speakers have power, if so, is the integrated audio turned on(During start-up hit "F12-setup" right before boot up. Your pc might have this option, if so turn it on, if it's on then you may have an issue with your audio drivers. go to start/control pannel/performance and maintanace/system/hardware/device manager.....now check to see if you have any yellow exclamation marks on the audio devices, if so you need to re-install drivers...if everything checks out ok here, then your soundcard is bad. good luck

Sound stops suddenly

Alright, so wait, explain that again, It stops working when your using it, or when it goes into standby?

It starts working again after what? When you come out of standby?

When going into standby, the system goes on low power may cut the power to your speakers.

Check your Power settings.

RIGHT CLICK on DESKTOP> Select properties, Go to screen saver Tab and click on the Power button, then check all the power options such as when it goes into standby, how long till it does and adjust them to your preferences, also make sure Hibernation is turned off as well, when it goes into Hubernation, it cuts almost everything.

Give this a try and let me know,
good luck

Speakers Crackling and system keeps going to standby.

Hi,
It sounds like you may have a problem with the sound pc board. If the system shuts down or goes into a stand by mode, then it means the system is detecting an internal problem and is shutting itself down to avoid any further damage. You may need to have it serviced but that could be a little expensive. You can always buy a used replacement receiver if the speakers and sub is still working good.
Hope that helps.
