Compressor has air coming out the air in take, and has air pressure in the crankcase. When shut off. I shut it off at 150psi.

home compressors should cut out at 100- 110 psi so check / replace the controller
air out of the inlet is air under pressure holding the valves open
pressure in the sump is a blocked breather for the sump possibly from excessive air pressure
remember it is not pressure that drives tools but volume flow so if you have a 10 cubic ft /min compressor but are running a tool that requires 12 cubic ft /min air then 150 psi is not the answer
a bigger capacity compressor is

What will cause my Kohler Command Pro 12.5 Engine on an air compressor to shut down after the tank fills instead of going to an idle. Carb is new.

Does this have the solenoid on the bottom of the carb? That is a automatic shut off device installed in the pot of the carb to shut off the gas if the carb is overflowing with gas. If the carb is new, is the solenoid? Also, is there a bleeder line for condernsation to the tank on the bottom of the air tank? If so, sometimes that is a problem. Too much water inside the air tank. I don't know if it would cause this problem though.

Charge air pro model ir330e20 builds pressure to only 60 psi and will not stop running

Cbillgreene:

Your compressor is leaking air somewhere between the compressor head and the tank. With the compressor running, feel carefully around the ends of the tube that leads from the compressor head to the air tank. You will probably feel some air leaking around one end or the other. If so... remove the tube and find out which packing has failed.

While using my compressor (Husky WL65004AJ) the compressor used to go on when the pressure dropped down to about 85-90 psi. Now it doesn't. The only way that I can build up the pressure again is to shut...

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly. I tried several places too cross this model number: WL65004AJ without success. The pressure switch has 2 settings one for HIGH cutoff and one for LOW cycle on. 1/2 of your pressure switch is not functioning properly. With the proper model number I could find a source for the pressure switch for you. There are a couple of different types of presure switchs, One is a stand alone switch on the air plumbing with no external controls (under $30.00) and one is an all-in-one switch that has the on off switch and air lines connected to it that runs around $86.00. You need a pressure switch.... it is just a matter of finding out which one fits your model and replacing it.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Leaking air

When the Pressure switch shuts off, the little air valve in the pressure switch vents the copper line from the compressor, to blead the pressure from the compressor so it's easier to start the next time. If it continues to leak, the check valve between compressor and tank must not be holding.

My PRO-SOURCE air compressor will not go over 50 psi

Your compressor has got a 'ring' problem. The rings on the pistons that compress air are leaking air by them and need to be replaced. Unless it's the 'pressure release' leaking. When it gets to 40 PSI or so, unplug it and listen for a leak. If no leak then it's the rings. inside on the piston. If you adjust the pressure switch all the way low, it might shut off near where it builds pressure to and you could at least use it some.

Compessor trips circuit

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR COMPRESSOR IS NOT UNLOADING WHEN IT SHUTS DOWN. YOU SHOULD HEAR AN AIR RELIEF SOUND TYPICALLY ON THE SIDE OF THE PRESSURE SWITCH WHEN IT SHUTS DOWN. ITS A SMALL VALVE WITH A TIRE VALVE THAT THE LEVER HITS AND RELIEVES THE PRESSURE FROM THE DISCHARGE LINE AND THE TOP OF THE PISTON.

YOUR CHECK VALVE COULD BE BAD LETTING PRESSURE BACK UP BUT IT WOULD BE BLOWING AIR OUT ALL THE TIME WHEN SHUT DOWN.

IF YOU THINK THE VALVE OR SWITCH IS WORKING AND WANT TO CHECK IT, LET THE COMPRESSOR BUILD UP AND SHUT DOWN, LISTEN FOR THE AIR RELIEF,IF IT DOESNT THEN CRACK THE DISCHARGE LINE AND SEE IF THERES ANY PRESSURE, MANUALLY RELIEVE THE PRESSURE THEN USE SOME AIR AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. REPAIR VALVE ON THE SIDE OR CHANGE PRESSURE SWITCH $30-40.00. HOPE THIS HELPS. PLEASE REPLY. JODY

Cycling compressor

The pressure switch will shut off when the set pressure is obtained. Usually about 100 to 120 lbs. If the compressor stops at lower pressure than mentioned you may try to adjust the pressure by looking under the switch cover for adjustment screw/nut.(no more than a few turns) Increase pressure by increasing spring tension. Quick cycling is usually caused by air leaking from tubing, drain valve or check valve. After compressor shuts off unplug it from the outlet and spray soapy water on all fittings and drain valve. Repair leaks and test for quick cycling, however the compressor should reach 100-120 before shutting off. Some small compressors have a thermal reset but that usually takes a few minutes to reset. Pressure switch is defective if it shuts off before setting mentioned. Enjoy

Air compressor leaking

The problem that you are having is caused by the in tank check valve not holding the tank pressure. Simple test is to carefully loosen air-hose that feeds air to tank and check for air leaking. Replace check valve if leaking. Generic parts may be used. Enjoy
