I just bought a Canon sx120 IS and am about to return it. There is no action mode, and at least half of my pictures are blurry, even still shots! Can you tell me what is happening, or if there is a setting I can change? Thanks! Cindy

If the lens is removeable ensure it is fitted correctly.
if there is a manaul af setting make sure it is in af for autofocus.
ensure you are not in macro mode or close up mode as this will cause bluring on non close up pictures.
to test take a picture of a subject very close up and see if it is in focus if it is you need to change camera out of macro mode.
action mode is not available for macro mode so this maybe is the case.
action mode on cannon looks like a square with bottom right corner hilighted to look like a stack of images. make sure this is set for sequence shots.

My pictures are always blurry, even when I focus in for a second before I take the picture. Please help. I am holding my camera very still all the time and the picture is ALWAYS blurry, no matter even if I...

the shooter has two positions . one (half push) is for focusing and after full push is shot. When you take a picture, you see some green squares ? or only one square in the middle ? if that square is not green and is red. Your camera can`t make focus. One reason is because is on macro mode. If you see a flower on the LCD, that means is in the macro mode and you have to deactivate that function.

Canon Powershot SX10is All my action shots in

you should set it to a high shutter speed and f/stop also set your pictures to a RAW setting, if that made no sences let me know, and i'll say it abit more simple :)

I have a Canon Powershot SX100IS.It is the worst

If this is occurring in "Auto" as you say, then the particular camera that you have is defective. If a recent purchase, return it for exchange or refund. If that's not possible, call 1-800-OK-CANON for warranty repair. The SX100 IS actually is a VERY nice camera, and this is very uncommon for a Canon camera. Unfortunately, it sounds like you somehow got one that slipped through the cracks.

My Fuji 5000 is not performing like it used to on action shots - even when on auto mode. The blurriness is terrible and all my shots have the blurred look unless the subjects stand still.

Have you gone to the manual? It might be the film speed setting is too low which is adjusted through the menu button. If my memory is correct it would be in the setup mode. If you haven't already checked this, the higher the speed the better the action shots.

Shutter too slow and pics of people blurry. I have the camera on auto setting, push button half way down, focus, then all the way, take the pic. If the subject is moving AT ALL, the pic comes out blurry....

If your camera has a sport or action mode that would be your best option if your pics keep coming out blurry. These modes are made for action shots. Its worth a try!

Blurry action shots

try using the manual setting. Put the exposure to the highest setting, which would probably be about 1/1000 of a second. If you're shooting in not so good light 1/200 is good also.

Blurred football pictures

low light means the shutter stays open longer to capture the image.   Try changing exposure settings.
