Re-install a fresh copy of windows. It sounds as if the system has a corupt boot.ini file. when this happens a new install is all you can do.

The simplest try you can give is roll back to a previous restore point when the problem was not there and then repeat the procedure.

My computer keeps saying "The last attempt to restart the system from its previous location failed. Attempt to restart again?"

When you boot up, try pressing the delete key to see if that will take you to the bios setup screen. See if the computer recognizes your hard drive, and make sure that it is in the boot sequence. If your hard drive isn't there, it's fried and you have to buy a new one. Next, put your windows disk in your hard drive and see if you can boot from there. There is an option to repair windows if your hard drive is ok. Worst comes to worst, try reinstalling windows. You will loose all your data, but might get the computer back. It's a good idea to keep all important data backed up on a usb drive.

The last attempt to restart the system from its previous location failed. attempt to restart again?

it wont boot , right?
if you have no restore points all this is useless.
use your windoz, install disk , boot to it. then pick repair.

state all symptoms, not just , last attempt question.
you can click that 100 times, and you get the same results.

Power on battery fully charged computer not booting up

Use the Last Good known Configuration::
To use the Last Known Good Configuration feature, first restart the computer by pressing [Ctrl][Alt][Delete]. When you see the message Please select the operating system to start or hear the single beep, press [F8] to display the Windows Advanced Options menu. Select the Last Known Good Configuration item from the menu and press [Enter].
Keep in mind that you get only one shot with the Last KnownGood Configuration feature. In other words, if it fails to revive your Windows on the first attempt, the backup copy is also corrupt.Use system utility software like RegInOut after restarting windows.

Problem restarting Desktop computer

The computer battery needs to be replaced. The computer is missing its BIOS settings, which are stored on the computer battery on the motherboard. It's about the size of a nickel, and pops out easily. Take it to your favorite computer store and get a new one - about $8.
