Right now i have suncom and am using the hiptop 2, id like to switch to the LG strawberry chocolate but dont want to switch to verizon as a carrier, ive heard that if i put my sim card in it might work...also that the phone wont work without an unlock code, is there a way to get a used phone that is already unlocked..or buy the phone from the store& it will come unlocked, or any other options?

Re: want to sitch
Yes you can buy a mobile unlock you can do that online or check wih any mobile store in your area....to know if the phone you are purchasing is unlock , just do not take the CSR's work for it carry your sim-card with you and try it in the phone you will be buying.

all you need is lg downloader or lgnpst software you can google those and a verizon prl. and once you have either of those softwares and the drivers for your phone is installed u can get that from here:http://www.humpa.com/vzw/. and a usb cable for your phone to connect it to your computer and where it says prl/eri u can load the verizon prl and write it to your phone. you will find it in the link i have given. dont look under the part for lg voyager but instead look under the section for LG-VX8500 Chocolate PRL - PRL.
LG-VX8500 Chocolate ERI - ERI.bin zip - You should only need this if you screwed up! hopefully this helps. good luck
TRY THIS: Have had my LG chocolate for 10 days, then sounds just stopped. Another website said to take out the battery for a couple of minutes and put it back in, I just did that, and now my sounds are back!! I hope this isn't a chronic problem...
