Your PC can be connected like any other digital or analog audio source within its sound connection capabilities to any compatible input on the VSX. Just make sure you enable the PC's audio outputs and raise the volume.

My hdmi is on my pioneer vsx 523

The HDMI inputs are on the back upper left of the unit. the 4 on the left are INPUTS (like you connect you DVD to port 1) then you need a 2nd HDMI cable from the white 5th port going OUT to your TV HMDI port.

Where are line input plugs on pioneer vsx 820

There is a front component video/audio jack set on the VSX820. The other audio inputs are on the back. The digital audio inputs are closest to the HDMI ports and the analog audio ports are just to the right of the digital audio jacks. (Video In/Out plugs are further to the right.)

Pioneer has the manual for the VSX820 on the product site: . The direct link to the manual is http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Home/VSX-820_OperatingInstructions031011.pdf . See page 19 for a picture of the audio jacks.

I hope this helps.

Analog is cutting in and out while channel isn't being changed. Also, channels in analog have no sound at all. I tried to switch signal select to auto and the problem continues. what should I try next?

If you're only using analog audio, switch the signal selection to manual or analog.

If the source(s) that do this are primarily digital and they experience any problems the unit will want to dynamically switch to its analog path. If there's no analog path connected from the same device(s) you'll get silence every time it switches to analog. Observe the display when the problem occurs.

Pioneer works with cable box but not with new blue

HDMI version is 1.3 in your receiver. The current version is 1.3b. I would suggest calling Pioneer cust assistance and see if there is a firmware update. Your unit has a 2 year parts & labor warranty. Their # is 1-800-421-1404 It sounds like a CODEC issue. Hope this helps

I have a motorolla DSR505 sattelite receiver that I want to connect to my Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K audio/video receiver. The sattelite receiver has a DVI output jack so I have a DVI to HDMI cable to connect it...

The DVI output usually transmits only video (I'm almost 90% sure about this). It would be better if you did not use the DVI to HDMI cable. Receivers and displays can be very picky when it comes to using HDMI. Your Motorola DSR505 has other output options on its rear. I would suggest using the Component out for video (the 3 outputs colored green, blue and red) and either an optical or coaxial for the audio. The Pioneer VSX 1019 AH-K has the required inputs. Of course, you would require new component and coaxial/optical cables to do the job.
Hope this helps. If you're still in a tangle, you can consult the Official Thread on the Pioneer VSX 1019 AH-K on avsforum. There are a lot of helpful people out there.
