SOURCE: Dryer won't start.

Would first check the Breaker panel Breaker and see if it is tripped. Try resetting, if it trips out immediately would call an electrician.

SOURCE: Nothing happens when I push the start button on my Gas Dryer

Three things you can check the door switch is it clicking? The thermal fuse you want to make sure there is continuity or worse case would be your motor.

SOURCE: My GGQ 9800 gas dryer won't start. It was working

Hi,
Things to check first on a no start dryer.
Check for power at outlet.
Inspect power cord.
When you try to turn it on do you hear anything?
Check the door switch(does it click when pressed in?)
The next item to check and most likely replace on a completely dead dryer with power and a good door switch would be the thermal fuse located inside the cabinet.
Please let me know if I can help with anything else

My Neptune dryer has begun beeping when off. Now the control panel lights are on, power button is blinking and none of the buttons will work

Owner's manual? Troubleshooting section. Customer service call. They are usually helpful. Wild guess, problem with the gas supply. Could be lower than normal gas pressure because of the high demand in cold weather. Could also be a similar electrical voltage lower than normal. The "brains" in appliances are too smart sometimes.

Maytag Gas Dryer has power (light is on), but when I push the Start Button, nothing happens. The Dryer is a Maytag MGD5570, just under 4 years old. I checked the Thermal Fuse with a continuity tester and...

I had the same problem. Here's a quick test you need to do. It will take two individuals (unless you're extremely talented) Open the dryer door and push in the door switch... and hold it in. Have the other person push on (and hold) the start button on the console. At that same time everyone is pushing the switches take a free hand and reach into the dryer and try to spin it. Sometimes just a little push (assistance) is all it takes and..... bingo the dryer starts up! If that's the case... your motor is on its way out or it's gone. Usually due to the bearings on the motor being badly worn.

I have a ggw9868 gas dryer it works fine but it beeps at all times... i use the test diagnostic and casual led constantly flashes and also beeps. when it finish a cycle after a few minutes display goes on...

The display board with the buttons, or user interface has a stuck keypad on it. Sounds like the casual button is the culprit. The dryer thinks you are constantly pushing the key that is stuck and is beeping and starting itself up. I tried looking up the part number for you but it looks like the model should be ggw9868 and then K then L,Q, or T and then a number. You will also need the color for the part lookup. The part is called Panel, Console (includes key switch). This replaces the whole front panel assembly and should take care of your problem.

No hot air

This advice is for problems associated with GAS DRYERS that RUN, but DO NOT HEAT. Ensure your dryer ducting is clear and not clogged, first. ALL dryers require proper air flow in order to dry efficiently. If you do not have any obvious vent duct obstructions you can follow these simple steps in identifying WHICH dryer heating circuit component may be defective BEFORE you have to disassemble anything. With the dryer plugged in and the gas supply turned on, follow these steps:

PUSH START – Listen for a “click”. You have to listen carefully to hear it. If no “click” is heard when you push the start button, this is usually an indication of a bad RADIANT HEAT SENSOR.

PUSH START – “Clicking” sound is present, but dryer still does not ignite. This is usually an indication of a bad IGNITER.

PUSH START – Dryer ignites, but heating circuits shut off after a short period of time. You attempt to restart, but the dryer makes a “buzzing” sound. This is usually an indication of a bad GAS VALVE SOLENOID.

Now, these initial symptom analyses will give you a rough idea of where to begin troubleshooting. These tips are NOT all inclusive, but suited for the more common problems encountered with dryer ignition problems. In theory the dryer ignition works like this – You push the start button and the igniter begins to glow. This igniter will produce a certain current potential (roughly 2.5 to 3.7 amps, depending on type of igniter) and the gas valve will open. Once the gas valve opens, you have ignition. This is a built in safety feature of the unit that prevents free flowing gas inside your home or garage without ignition. If you suspect a bad gas valve solenoid, the dryer usually has two of them. It is recommended that you replace BOTH of them at the same time. If you suspect the igniter to be bad, open the dryer enough to see the burner assembly. There should be a visible glow from the igniter after you push start. If the igniter does NOT glow, replace it. If the igniter DOES glow, take a current reading to see if it is producing enough current. Here are the two types of igniters are their specifications:

Carborundum – cylindrical in shape (2.5 to 3.0 amps)
Norton – Rectangular in shape (3.2 to 3.7 amps)

I hope this information is helpful.
