Can't use either phone, pager keeps going off to both phones, lights flashing on base and phones? Unplugged, and using land line phone. Any suggestionson what to do? Unplugged phones, changed batteries, tried resetting phones, Nothing!

I am having exactly the same problem. Both handsets started paging about three days ago. Randomly paging on then off. It got to be such a problem I too had to unplug the base. I have tried every thing these other people have done. In fact, as I sit here and type, they just went off again. I press the talk button and they stop briefly. There is no rhyme nor reason. No specific time of day-(happens at any time). I am down to my "backup phone" that doesn't hold a charge very well. What is setting them off? Phone gremlins? HELP!

I had the same problem and I deregistered my handset from the base by removing the battery pack and kept it out overnight. The next day I replaced the battery and set the phone in the base for 20 seconds and it registered with the base. No more problems with random paging. I also cleaned the area around the page button, (I don't know if this had anything to do with it) and I have not had any more paging problems. good luck.

MY PHONE HAS FINALLY STOPPED REPEATEDLY PAGING! And here's what I did. I figured it was just dust, so when they went off again, I pushed the "Page" button that is located on the base. The phones stopped paging. Then I picked up the base (without the phone) and struck it smartly on the table. Not so hard as to break it, but hard enough to loosen what ever was inside. (I was hoping I didn't loosen critical wires!) I did that to the front, bakc, and both sides of the base unit. It has been three days and the phones have gone off since. Wheeww! It is such a relief the have the phone plugged back in.

I hope this helps someone else.

How do pagers work?

Pagers, also known as beepers are small telecommunication devices that carry short messages. There are one-way pagers that can receive short messages or phone numbers or two-way pagers, that allow the user to send and receive e-mail, sms messages etc.
Paging works through a subscription service who pass on the messages to other pager subscribers.

Viper remote not charging or no display

This is for the two way pager style remotes. If the remote no longer charges or it does not display anything then it could use a new rechargeable battery. This is usually the case for 9 out of 10 problems. This battery is much like the one in your cell phone and has a chargeable life. Over time and charging it gets weaker. Also if you leave the remote uncharged for a very long time there is a good chance the battery will not recharge. If you need to go on vacation for a very long time, charge the remote and then disconnect the battery from the remote. It takes about one minute after you reconnect the battery too the remote for it to start back up. This does nothing to the pairing of the remote or system, the remote saves all of that info in it and does not require battery power to keep it saved. Here is a website to purchase new batteries and a youtube video how to change it. Thanks, Hopefully I can help someone in need because these remotes are very expensive.

I replaced LG 800 - 800mAh Battery with a 1000mAh battery but the phone will not take a charge. On attempting to charge the screen & keypad flash on and off .Returning to my old battery everything works...

Hi, the problem you are having is with the new battery, their is a chip in the old battery that matches exactly with the phones make and model, now as the new battery is slightly different the phone is not picking up the signal and is going into safe mode to prevent damage being done by a battery that could be over powering the phone, if it was an older phone it would work as their is no chip in the battery but these newer phones have to match exactly with the correct parts else it will just put itself into safe mode to prevent any further damage being done by over powering the phone.

all you need to do is get the same battery as the one that was in the phone, if you take your phone to one of those independent phone shops they may be able to match a better battery up for you that will last longer in your phone.

now here is a tip

when you get a new battery its best if once a month you let it go totally flat keep switching the phone on until it wont switch on any more, then give it a full charge, doing this prevents bad cells forming in the battery and this will keep the life of the battery at its best, they dont tell you this when you buy the phone but they should do.

if you never let the battery go totally flat then this causes the cells to not charge properly and then this causes bad cells to form then when you charge the battery the cell wont get a full charge and then the phones battery life will decrease so let the battery go totally flat once a month and this will keep the battery life at its fullest and will keep your phone working for longer.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

please rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

Does leaving handset in charger shorten battery life

I used to repair pagers for Motorola and back then the biggest problem we had was from bad batteries. Firemen would go on vacation and leave there pagers in the chargers while gone. They would return in a week or two and find that there pagers would not work. The chargers heat the battery while charging and this continued heating after charging would ruin the batteries. New chargers aren't as bad but it is best to cycle your battery. Run it until it needs charging, charge until charged then use until it again needs to be charged. Refrain from unnecessary charging. If you properly cycle a battery it can last for 2 or 3 years before replacing

No dial tone both units

You have almost left no stone unturned. It is either a bad base station or a bad cord between the base and the jack. Try a new cord.

Notification when fax arrives

In the 90s, cell phone companies and pager companies use to provide a seperate phone number answered by a computer that you could dial with your computer modem which would page/text a specific device you specified.

Most cell phone companies no longer offer this service.

WinFax/TalkWorks can notify your pager or cellular phone (using SMS messaging) whenever new faxes or voice messages arrive.

WinFax/TalkWorks works with Tone Only, Numeric, Personalized Numeric, and Alphanumeric pagers. To use the pager notification feature, you must know:

1.the capabilities of your pager/cellular phone
2. the telephone numbers WinFax/TalkWorks must dial to connect to your service provider
3. your personal identification number (if your pager supports this feature)

Handset needs registration

I had the same problem and have seemed to figure it out. Take the handset near the base. Press the Prog/Mute button at the bottom of the phone. It will display a message to press the Pager on the base. The phone will then ask you for a Handset Name. Press the Prog/Mute button again and it will name the handset Handset 1.. it is working
