Question about Dewalt d55151 factory reconditioned emglo heavy - duty 2.5hp 4 gallon Electric hand carry compressor

My compressor will not come on when pressure drops down. What could be possible causes?If you jump out the neutral wires it will come on so its not the motor.

The springs in the switch box may be misadjusted, one starts it the other shuts it down.check to see if one looks overly tight.also check the small hose going from tank to switchbox for clogs

I would check the a/c clutch relay. Other possibilities include pressure switch, fuse, or wiring.

possible you have a bad low or high pressure switch on a/c system bad causing compressor not to engage, find switchs and jump across wires and see if compressor engages

1995 cirrus lx 2.5 a/c wont engage. freon full, fuse curcuit good, jumped accross the circut and it works. throwing code out saying open switch if it is somthing real serious,can i jump it and leave...

Jumping the switch is only recommended for very short periods of time to check the compressor itself. The problem with straight-wiring it is that the compressor will run all of the time. During normal operation, the compressor cycles on and off depending on the pressure inside the A/C system. If you run the compressor all of the time, you run a risk of causing substantial damage to your A/C system, your car, or even yourself. The compressor would be constantly pressurizing the system until something releases that pressure. It may be an A/C hose or it may cause something larger to explode under the tremendous pressure. Be very careful with the A/C system and get the advice of a licensed A/C technician.

How do you bypass a lowpressure switch on a 2003 kia sedona

Bypassing the low pressure a/c switch can cause damage to the a/c compressor. A basic low pressure switch (two wires) can usually be bypassed by jumping the two wires. If it has more then two wires it can't be easily bypassed.

the ac clutch will quit working if the refrigerant pressure drops too low ... or if the pressure sending switch is bad or if the wire to the clcutch is broken .. the word "frozen" usually means it cant be turned (not that it just doesnt turn) ... if you cant turn the unengaged clutch then thats a compressor failure ... that may in turn damage the clutch as it slips trying to turn the frozen compressor .. if the compressor can be turned freely by hand then thats not the problem .. if the clutch is simply not being turned on then usually thats just low refregerant or a blown fuse, bad relay or bad low pressure switdh . once in a while there might be an open winding on the clutch or a broken wire going to it .. they cant check refrigerant pressure without first getting the clutch to work ... so its possible to jump power directly to the clutch .. it will usually operate and gauges applied to the air conditioner might show the pressure to drop very low .. that would normally turn off the clutch ... just checking for leaks and recharging often is all that is needed ..

Have a 2003 stratus with intermittent A/C works great when on, where is the pressure sensor located?, that may be problem

On this Chrysler product they have an A/C Transducer located on the high pressure hose. The switch has three wires. They also have a thermo sensor located at the evaporator case behind the glove compartment. These two things are the only ones thatA jump in the system is only removing protection the system has. So it will damage your compressor or hoses. Find the compressor follow the high hose to the high pressure switch (transducer) it has three wires. Check under the dash by the glove box and you will see a round platick lid on the case with two wires that is your thermostat (thermo sensor).

The A/C clutch is controlled by the A/C cycling switch (19E561) and the A/C pressure cut-off switch, which are connected in series. The A/C cycling switch is mounted on the suction accumulator/drier (19C836), and the A/C pressure cut-off switch is mounted in the discharge line at the A/C condenser.

The A/C cycling switch closes when the pressure on the low side of the system reaches approximately 276-324 kPa (40-47 psi). The A/C cycling switch opens when the pressure drops to approximately 163-175 kPa (23.5-25.5 psi), disengaging the A/C clutch. In ambient temperatures below -1° C (30° F), the A/C cycling switch will not allow compressor operation because of low system pressures.

The A/C pressure cut-off switch is used to interrupt A/C clutch operation in the event of high system discharge pressures. The A/C pressure cut-off switch is a single-function switch that controls A/C clutch engagement. When compressor head pressures rise to approximately 2896 kPa (420 psi), the contacts open, disengaging the A/C clutch. When the pressures drop to approximately 1724 kPa (250 psi), the contacts close to allow A/C clutch operation.

This problem can be caused by low refrigerant charge. Check with a manifold gauge set and temperature pressure chart.
The cycling switch is replaceable and there is a Schrader valve on the accumulator port so you do not lose your system charge when replacing. It screws on/off. It is available at any auto parts store. It protects the compressor from low pressure which can be caused by a loss of refrigerant and subsequent lack of lubrication and prevents evaporator freeze up. Replace the switch. It is about $10. The high presure switch is about $25.

How do you jump a/c compressor so it will take the freon?

The interuptions in compressor engagement is due to low side drops which is controlled by the pressure switch mounted on the low hose or large metal accumulator on the passenger side. Low side hoses are larger and the accumulator is on the passenger side engine compartment...a paper clip works fine jumping this low side pressure switch out until freon pressures increase enough to keep compressor running to accept freon.

The first thing to check is if there is enough gas. The compressor will not work when the gas is low. There is a small inspection glass on the line. This needs to be clear. If you see streaks or bubbles means the gas is low. Never mind the pressure or wiring for now, Add one can of gas and this should get that first part done.

Ac new and ran for 4 months then stoped.

Try checking the spacing of the clutch of the compressor to your A/C...chances are the gap is too large and will not pull down to engage the compressor. That should eliminate the jump wire and keep your car snowing. No clutch to engage the compressor, no A/C.
