F1 code also cooling fans runs all the time replaced erc contr

Your model has about 5 reasons for that code. Click Here=> MGS5770ADW Service Manual and then go to page 25 in header control bar or at bottom right side of page is section 1-11 It is a very large manual so if you do not have the current Adobe Reader go to th search for Adobe Reader 9 I realize I just saw your post being2 days old. But thought would come in handy for the service manual. Now if you want me to go through this I can do that also. Maytag gas range, model MGS5770ADW,serial 34735247GG. Cooling fan comes on when temperature is set. Continues to run after cancel. Replaced control panel and igniator. Fan is still running.

I have run into this and I would bet you have a bad oven sensor.Im sure this model only has one pcb. so there is no fan board.try the oven sensor.

If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at

Smell gas from inside oven. oven will not heat up. no leaks from gas line outside of oven

On the bottom of the oven on the inside you will find an igniting bar. It is rectangular and usually just has one or two screws in it. This is your problem, switch it out and it will work fine.

The electric has gone off--can I use the oven by lighting it myself? how?

Sure but, this is not recommended so be very careful when igniting this oven manually. i would turn on the gas at a very low range then, use a fire place match. These matches are very long. If your range is totally electric. you will not be able to use the unit because it uses an element that is charged by electricity.

Bottom oven burner will not light

If your Kenmore is like most Whirlpool-built gas ranges, surface ignitors similar to those used in gas dryers are used. These devices have a conductive path fused to a ceramic substrate and are common failures. There are separate units for bake and broil burners.
Check the Sears website under the 'Parts' subsection and enter your range model number. This should bring up a choice of things to do and if you ask for the illustrated parts breakdown, you can see where the ignitor is located, get its part number, and generally order from that same site.
It's mildly disturbing that the range continues to allow gas to flow unignited.

Gas Range, trouble igniting

It is likely that the ignitor needs to be replaced. If the range does not sense the correct amount of resitance in the ignitor it turns the gas valve off. When the ignitor is starting to fail the problem is intermittent, so the range turns on and off as you have described.
