It suddenly stopped turning on. It does not respond to my pressing any of the buttons. I did charge the device using the charger and the sync wire. I have some information on the Palm that I need to retrieve and save so I do not wish to hard reset.
In the past, it did behave similarly. The screen would remain lit, and not responding to any buttons until the battery died and then the Palm would work normally after charging. But this time the screen remains off. I suppose if we could drain or disconnect the battery, the Palm would work normally after the battery is reconnected. Turn it on pressing the reset at the same time or take out battery and unplug/plug the battery. Your battery may have died. If this is helpful, post as such. If it is a fixya, post as such. I had an E2, can tell you alot about it. TY
have you tried a hard reset? Todo a hard reset, First press and hold the power button, while holding the power button use the tip of the stylus to gently press and release the reset button. wait for the logo to appear then release the power button. when you see the message that warns you about erasing all of the info on your hand held press up on the 5way navigator to finish the reset
1 press and hold the power button
2 while holding the power button, use the stylus to press the rest button on the back
3 wait for the "palm powered" logo to appear and then release the power button
4 when you see the warning message
either press "UP" on the 5 way navigator to reset
press any other button to do a soft reset
Other than pressing the power button, the device will turn on if one of the four buttons on the face of the device are pressed (calendar, notes, task list, etc). So check to see if they might be getting pressed by accident. Unless it is protected by a hard cover, it is possible that a button is being pressed by accident in your pocket, backpack, suitcase or wherever you carry it.
Let me know if that helps.
PS - The device will also turn on if a reminder or alarm is set.
