if you press CTRL+ALT+DEL on the log on screen, the log on will change and will ask for your username and password... you can now type in Administrator for username and your password for that admin account...

    hope this helps you...

If you have windows xp home, yes.. safe mode is a way to get into the administrator account.. hopefully you wil be able to access your files again. to get into safemode do the following:

1. shut your computer off and wait 30 seconds
2. turn the computer on and keep pressing f8 soon after you have press the on button, if you do it right you see black screen with white letters showing "advance startup options"
(note if you see the windows xp message and the little cursor going from left to right, you need to try again.
3. once you get to the screen of "advance start up options" go down with the arrows until you have "safemode" hightlighted.
4. click enter
5. your computer will give show the different accounts including the administrator account
6. once you get into the admin account try to access the files and then move the files you need to a shared location (ex. my computer> shared documents)
7. then restart normally

alternative option

you can access the administrator account also in normal mode:
on screen when you enter the account (and the password) where you log in, just click ctlr+alt+del (you should see the loging box with the "administrator" already typed in, if there's no password for the admin, just hit enter and you'll be in the admin account while in normal mode.

hope that helps

I have a HP Pavillion Lap top and forgot the pass word that goes with my user name

Restart your computer. When your computer is restarting spam the f8 key until it shows you a black screen with multiple options. One of those options will be "Safe Mode". Select this option and it should give you the option to login as administrator when it displays the user select screen. When you select administrator and it lets you in change your account password. Restart your computer again and login with the new password you set.

How do i reset my password on my hp mini 110. someone changed it and we can't get back in

assuming you have xp and there's no admin password try the following:

1. turn off your laptop
2. restart your laptop and before win xp logo comes on press f8 several times until you get into a black screen with the advance start up options, if you see the xp logo, restart your computer and try again.
3. select with the arrow safe mode and press enter to start your computer in safe mode.
4. before you get into windows will be prompted to select an account, if you had an account, should see your account and an administrator account. select the administrator account to log in.
5. Once in windows under the administrator account proceed to reset your password as follows:.
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. Type control userpasswords2, and then click OK.
  3. On the Users tab, click the name of the user account that you want to reset the password for, and then click Reset Password.
  4. Type a new password in the New password box, and then type the password again in the Confirm new password box, and then click OK.
  5. Restart the computer, and then try to log on to Windows XP again.
I hope that helps!
