Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. No picture or sound

Looks like a power supply issue the only solution to fix this up is to get it repaired.

Last week my Toshiba picture tube style TV wouldn't turn on.....but now it's on and I can't turn it off. New TV in my future?

You might have intermittent ON/OFF switch. Can't think of anything else according to the description of the fault.

Red light goes on and off

Needs the button put back into place. Look under the cabinet to see if there is an access panel below the switch, would go for all external controls. There would be a chassis with all the controls mounted to it.
Pull the plug before doing any repairs.
Look to see what it would look like in it's normal position. Something has moved out of place that holds the switch to the panel. Very tedious if you have to remove the whole housing.

My tv has a red button on the front that flashes and no picture comes on when we try to turn it on with the remote

The Toshiba sets were well known for bad capacitors in the power supply. I recommend getting it assessed.

Power problems problem on

I would try a power drain:  Unplug the TV's power cable so the TV is not grounded to the house.  Then press and hold in the TV's own power button for one minute to drain the capacitors. Plug the TV back in and see what happens.  If the TV will still not turn on, I would say you have a problem with the TV's mainboard as a dead power supply will not light any LED's for you.

Before you do anything else, make sure you do a hard reset. Unplug your television for an hour or two and then plug it back in. If you are still seeing the blinking lights and no picture or sound then we know of several possible prolbems that it might be. All of which require a local repair service to open the tv and replace a part.

Power button Flashes

For the first one, please list the model number and count the blinks. Also, can you please post each problem separately. It will get too confusing trying to address 3 sets with different but similar problems.
