No sound from my speakers after i pluged the into a dell desktop

Look for speaker icon in task area (right side of task bar). If there is a red x on it it means the speakers are muted or the sound device drivers are not loaded or the sound device is disabled. Click on speaker icon and go to mixer. Check for muting. If it says sound device is not present then open Control Panel by clicking on Start or Windows button in lower left corner, go to Control panel, often abbreviated "CP" then click on system then on device manager and see if Sound, video and game controllers has an audio device listed. If not you'll have to acquire the drivers from the dell driver download site and apply them. If it does and device shows disabled, then click on it and enable it. If there is no sound device then check for an "Other device" entry in device manager. It'll usually have a yellow ! on it. That means a device was identified by plug and play but the system could not find a driver for it. Go to windows update service in CP and run find updates. If Windows finds an upated sound driver, install it. It will install and plug and play and set up device. Otherwise off to with the service tag number of the computer---found on back or top of system. This will lead to the downloads and drivers page for your specific box. Look down list for Sound drivers, download and install them. Usually with dell it downloads as an executable (Rnnnnnn.exe) and all you have to do it click on the file name to run and install it. After download If in Vista or Windows 7 I always right click on file name and chose "Run as administrator" whenever installing like that. That makes sure you have adequate permissions to do the install and have to install correctly.

Also it goes without saying to make sure you have plugged the audio in lead to speaker set into the correct sound plug on back plane of system (usually the green one).

Suddenly no sound from speakers

First, we must determine if the problem is with the speakers themselves, or with hardware or software of the computer. Try plugging a set of headphones into the audio out jack of your system (often times, this will be a green colored jack). Play sound on the computer while listening to the headphones, can you hear the sound? If so, the problem is with the speakers, otherwise, you need to troubleshoot software/hardware of the system. Another method would be to try plugging these speakers into the headphone jack on an mp3 player, mobile cd player, stereo, or similar device. Aside from the system not putting out sound, the speakers could be plugged into the incorrect jack on the system (not audio out, OR not audio out on the correct device), or turned all the way down.

I have dell ax210 -2 speakers....I dont have the driver cd....i want the software...

Your speakers don't require any special drivers. All they do is take the analog sound signal from the computer, amplify it and play it for you. If the sound hardware is working, all you need to do is plug in the speakers. The green signal plug goes into the output jack on the computer, and you need to connect the USB plug to an open port for power. Your computer needs driver software for its sound hardware, though, and if you're trying to solve a "no sound" problem, this may be the cause.

You don't give a make and model of your computer or sound card, so I can't give you a specific link. But you can get the drivers from the computer manufacturer's site. If you have a custom-built computer or are using a separate sound card, you'll need to get the sound drivers from the motherboard manufacturer (if it's integrated sound) or sound card manufacturer.

I have a new dell inspiron. I just purchased Logitech x-540 surround sound speaker system. The right front, left front, and center speakers don't work. Everything seems to be hooked up right. Any ideas. Is...

Yes there has to be a configuration for the 5.4 surround sound... look if the hardware came with a CD to update the sound driver. or Check if the its correctly configured. on the control panel then click Sound, then depending what windows you have have to lookk for the configuration or properties area and configure as 5.0 or sorround etc.

Left channel will not play

Firstly try swopping over the left speaker to the right channel . If still no sound then either the speaker cable will have a break in it & need replaced or the actual speaker will be open circuit. If you get sound from the speaker on this channel then the the speaker is ok. Check your PC's audio set up... Go to Control Panel/ Sounds & Audio devices/ In volume Tab, click in Device volume area... Advanced & then check the Balance settings are not set to one end.
