Buy a new one, they should be really cheap now that you can play these games on newer systems. they arent worth screwing around with or paying money to repair. if you cant tap it to fix it, buy a new one.

Red light dims on Super Nintendo

I do not think on that the red power light could burn out on an SNES console but you never know.
  1. ake sure you are using a licensed AC Adapter (the system's power cord). The name "Nintendo" should be molded into the actual AC Adapter unit. If it says "for use with Nintendo" it may be an unlicensed product Unlicensed products are not fully compatible with Nintendo systems and may not work correctly.
  2. Make sure you are not using any game enhancing devices. Such devices are unlicensed and are not recommended by Nintendo, as they may not let your system function properly.
  3. Firmly plug the AC Adapter into the AC Adapter port on the back of the Control Deck and firmly plug the AC Adapter into the wall outlet.
  4. Make sure your wall outlet works. To check it, try plugging a lamp into the same outlet where your system was plugged in. Turn the lamp on the verify the outlet works. Also, make sure you are not using an outlet that is operated from a wall switch (if you do, make sure the wall switch is in the ON position).
  5. Slide the Power Switch on the Control Deck to the ON position.
  6. Check to ensure that the AC Adapter is not damaged (i.e., the dog chewed the cable). If it is damaged, you may want to purchase a replacement AC Adapter.
What to do if Troubleshooting doesn't help
Due to the age of the system, we no longer offer factory repairs directly from Nintendo. Please click here to find out what options are available for repair or replacement of your product. If you simply need to order parts or accessories, you may want to check out our Online Store. Nintendo's Online Store still carries many parts and accessories for our older products.

The connection for input from tv aerial to tv is broken

Your Super Nintendo has two outputs, Unless you have the Mini Super Nintendo.

But since the mini is rare lets stick with the regular one, If you are talking about the cable that plugs into your television, The one that plugs in to coax (where the cable box would go) Should look like a black cord with a black or gray box on the end and screws onto the back of the television,
If thats the part thats broken have no fear, There should be another input that looks like (`````#``````) (_______) Im not an artist sorry lol, Anyways this cord has three wires on the end red, white & yellow.
The mini if im not mistaken only has one output, Anyways if you have a Gamecube or Nintendo 64 that cord will also work on the Super Nintendo.
Also make sure when plugged in and turned on that there is a small red light on the front indicating that it's on. If you need a wire you can get one here http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-AV-Cable-Super/dp/B000035Y6B/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1286967890&sr=8-1
Amazon has them for around 5 bucks including shipping.

I just purchased a super nintendo and i cant get it to work. the red light comes on the console but i cant get anything to show up on the tv .

Check to see what power supply your using to connect it with. If using a rf swithch make sure its on channel 3 or 4 then. If you are using the av cables switch them to a different out lit then.

I just bought a super nintendo ''super famicom jr''. I turned the power button on and I didn't see anything on the screen. Am I supposed to put the game in first before I turn the power button on? I didn't...

Well yes you are supposed to put the game in before you turn on the system. another thing is that super nintendo doesn't make the same noises like most modern game systems do because those game systems require more electrical components. If the light is on its most likely working. If it still doesn't work it most likely has dust. you might want to blow in the game or the game console. Hope I could help.

Super nintendo turns on but not picture or sound

if you've tried 2 other super nes' and still no picture and sound.. don't you think it's the "yellow, red, white" cables that might be an issue? doesn't sound like a power cord is the issue at all if it's getting power to the "red light".... get a new y,r,w cable (sry.. tired and forget the name)

My Super Nintendo-- Black screen, white lines, buzzing sound

You just need to clean the game. Wipe the gold strip on the bottom of the game with a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol.

Video Problems with Super Nintendo

Try replacing your video cord. Sometimes they are just "patially bad" meaning they can read something but not enough to do anything.

What did you use to clean the games?
