  • screwhead Feb 04, 2008

All day and a few evenings for this installation, and I flood it on the second load...

Where is the switch located under the bottom drawer? Is it visible or under a (white) cover? Please be more specific. Anything special to resetting it?

    Thanks tons!

Hi Guys,
Our dishwasher was bone dry underneath yet we had F1 error on the top drawer only. Found the "flood switch" was dry, but the terminals for one of the drawers were a little dodgy; probably due to the mouse living in our dishdrawer - found plenty of it's evidence left behind. Removed the terminals, cleaned the contacts, re-fitted the terminals - all working OK
Cheers, Kiwi

Unplug power, turn off water. Remove lower drawer as shown in installation book; can be found online too. Mop up as best as you can with a sponge, place a fan pointing into the cavity and allow it to dry the interior, mine took an hour or so. Reassemble and restore power/water, and it should reset the fault. Be sure to resolve whatever issue caused the flood, mine was hand soap in the rinse agent reservoir, caused lots of bubbles and overflow. Flushed that as well as possible and mopped up the suds, ran 3 rinse cycles and a Normal wash with no detergent. Everything is A-OK for now...

My dish draw **** up with a service code f 1 , what does this mean

This can mean several things. If you have double drawer dishwasher then you need to confirm if you get the F1 message in both drawers or just one.
If both drawers then it is caused by water leakage and flood switch activiates. If only in one drawer then the power supply to the other drawer is blown.
For single unit drawer it means flood switch triggered.

Fisher and paykel double drawer dishwasher flashes F1 fault code, whats wrong or how do i clear the code?

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa.
F1 error means that the flood switch has been activated. You’ll need to reset it by powering off the breaker or by unplugging the unit from the power socket and mains for more than five minutes. Please check that there is no blockage in the drain hose and it is not raised higher otherwise the water will run back to the dishwasher. Also perform the following procedure---
    • Unplug power and remove bottom dish drawer
    • Use a Sponge and dry all the excess water underneath
    • Remove circuit board cover
    • Dry all around and underneath as much as possible
    • Apply hairdryer for 10-15min

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or else post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Doulbe Draw model receiving an F1 error message.

F1 indicates flood switch has been activated. I wouldn't advise you attempt repair on these drawers- they really require an expert to disassemble (I worked for F+P for 10 years!!). Depending on which model you have (DD603 or DD601v2), repair varies. 603 has a small circuit board that acts as flood switch- located in base beneath drawer- requires drawer to be removed for access. 601v2 model has polystyrene float that acts as flood switch-leaks usually caused by split lid seal(tricky to access- drawer has to be removed) In either case, a leak has occurred and activated flood switch. These drawers are very sensitive to detergents (don't use tablets!!), and the way they are loaded.
Would suggest you get service technician to remedy F1 fault

How do i fix f1 fault code on fisher&paykel dd603 dish washer

Ah the F1 question... unplug the machine, you cannot clear this fault by pressing any buttons. What has happened is the flood switch had been activated, meaning there is water in the lower pan, under the lower drawer. You can try letting it dry-out for awhile but the cause of the flooding can be many things including bad lid lifts, a broken link support, a cracked drain line, too large of plates or someone put Dawn in it. Most likely your link support has broken and caused a dent in the lid which seals the drawer during washing. You need to have a Tech out to look at it; call F/P for someone authorized to fix it.

E-mail for Fisher Paykel DD603 manual

Josh, you will need to have a Tech out to look at it... F/P will not sell you parts to repair it. The F1 indicates that the flood switch has been tripped. There are many possible causes for this but probably the upper drawer link support has broken and is getting stuck between the lid and the drawer in which case you will need a new lid and link support.
