I guess, you enabled the BRK mode that takes up to 16 Pictures. There's a button on the top of the camera to turn that on/off.

is there a way to "fix" the picture if you accidently had the camera in BRK mode? I just want one picture.

  • Peter Steiner Apr 26, 2011

Ok, just rechecked this function... There are 3 burst modes:

    1. 'Burst': Shoot as many independent Pictures as possible,
    2. 'Exposure Bracket' (BRK): Shoot 3 independent Pictures with different exposures,
    3. 'Multi Burst'. Shoot 16 pictures and put the result in one .jpg file.

Fixing the first 2 is trivial, because they are independent pictures anyway. Fixing the 3rd is somewhat impossible, because each picture has a resolution of just 320x240 pixels and you can not push it up to 'normal' size. If 320x240 is enough for you, then you can simply use Paint, Irfanview, Gimp or any other photo manipulation software to crop one picture out of the jpeg.

The available menu items vary depending on the camera mode.
The shooting menu is available only in the shooting mode, and the viewing menu is available only in the playback mode. So set your camera to shooting mode and press menu. In menu you will find image size for still image. Set up as you prefer. If you don't have a manual. Find it in the link below.

I cannot find the black and white mode on my camera.

It's in the Shooting menu, under "PFX" (pages 38 and 41 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one from

I have a sony 8.1 cyber shot. Can I take a photo with higher resolution than 72 dpi? I can't figure out how to change the setting.

In simple words select higher mega pixel value...
All the settings are not available in all shooting modes.
But in programmable mode find out settings viz."Image Size". By setting this at highest value You can get which you are looking for.

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T2

Hey marafioti14,
What you need to do is select shooting mode and then under that you need to select program mode, and under program menu you need to select the color mode which should allow you to set the camera to take black and white photographs. This being said I would suggest instead of shooting the images in black and white it would be better to convert them to black and white using computer software. It is likely that the software that came with the camera allows you to convert any image to black and white. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Cannot set "HI" Mode to shoot TIFF Images

In order to shoot "HI" TIFF images first set the Image Size option to either "5M 2592x1944" or "3:2 2592x1728." Next, choose "HI" as the Image Quality option. "HI" is only available in one of the manual exposure modes (P, S, A or M) and is not available in the "Auto" shooting mode. If "HI" is selected and the camera is switched to "Auto" the Image Quality will automatically switch to "FINE" mode and a JPEG image will be recorded. Additionally, "HI" is only available in "S" Single frame Continuous shooting.
