If it the one I think it is, you don't need to leave usb in, that is used to recharge. Disconnect when charged. No need to switch of, these go into stand by when not in use,
Only use usb, when obvious micky batts are running out, cursor will want to go too sleep, reconnect usb and use while charging!

I have a CanaKit Raspberry Pi 3. My USB mouse works fine until I plug an additional item into the USB above it.

You mouse may be using to much power. Sometimes while using older computers such as laptops and desktops newer technology consumes loads of power. Try using an older mouse and try seeing if you can plug camera in then mouse. If the mouse work and the camera doesn't it almost ensures a power problem.

Have my nano plugged into USB port and mouse is turned on but still unable to use.

did you try in other PC or Laptop?
USB mouse has its own driver.. it takes time to load its driver automatically..
Check if its automatically installed driver.. or manually...
is your USB port in Good Look? if not .. port defect. if it is good.. your mouse is defect eaither wire or mouse itself..

Usb mouse stops working vary often, almost every 10 minutes..to fix it I have to disconnect it and put it right back but that's temporary.

It sounds like you have a faulty usb connection inside your laptop, Try putting mouse into another usb jack onto your laptop, or try connecting something else ie camera, phone to the usb you have been using for your mouse. If all is well when connecting another device to same usb, It maybe a fault with the mouse itself and not your laptops usb. Let me know if you connect another device if problem happens the same or if it works. If it works it's a fault with your mouse. Maybe a break in the mouse wire.
Hope this helps, If you need anymore info please just ask away and I'll be happy to try and help and resolve this issue for you.

My Microsoft mouse keeps disconnecting, and it wont work. Iv tried everything to get it to work again, any ideas?

Try turning off your computer then remove the stick from the USB port that supports the wireless mouse (disconnect the mouse from the computer). Change the batteries in the mouse.
Reconnect the mouse to the computer and press the tiny button on bottom of the mouse to calibrate the connection (it usually says "connection" or "reset" near the button) and hold it in for about ten seconds or so.

Then turn the computer back on and see if this solves your problem.

If your mouse continues to disconnect, the range from the stick plugged into the computer to the area where you use the mouse may be too far - or there is other audio equipment or microwave ovens in the area that are interfering with your connection. Try moving the computer tower, changing usb ports to connect the mouse to or remove any unnecessary electrical equipment on or near your desk area.

If all of the above does not solve your problem, return your mouse to the store of purchase or exchange it for another. It may be defective.

Touch pad quit working - locked

Check the mouse setup in control panel - many can be turned off but you have to use keyboard steps to get to the controls under mouse for the touchpad. You can also download a live CD like Ubuntu, burn to a Cd and boot from that and if the touchpad works in Ubuntu then it is the driver software in the off setting. If the Ubuntu or other OS live CD yields a dead touchpad then the touchpad itself has gone bad, or the connector on the motherboard has loosened, or the controller on the motherboard has failed. Troubleshooting the dead hardware will incur getting replacement hardware to isolate it - get a used touchpad or palmrest with touchpad included from a reseller on ebay or a place like laptopaid.com that fits your model. It will involve disassembly to install.

One way to get to the mouse/touchpad settings is to hookup a regular USB mouse then boot so you wont have to use keyboard shortcuts. Check the settings, turn the touchpad on if it's set to off then disconnect the USB mouse and you should be good.

Does the labtec wireless mouse turn itself off when not in use

Hi,
You should always safely shut down and turn off your computer before plugging or unplugging the mouse from the PS/2 mouse port. If you do not safely turn off your computer, you may damage the mouse port, the mouse, or both.

Your Labtec mouse should detect and function by simply connecting it to the computer´s PS/2 mouse port or USB port. If you have 3 Button Labtec Mouse (M/N: M-CAC64), your mouse will work in the PS/2 and serial port with the supplied adaptor. If you are using the 3 Button Labtec mouse, we recommend using the PS/2 port. To determine the model number of your device, turn it upside down and look at the label. Model numbers are indicated by "M/N:". This will help you determine what system ports your Labtec mouse can be connected to.

Thank you

How do you turn off a PS/2 compatiable mouse (touch pad) Cant do this in control panel or uninstallng driver in device manger.

If it can't be done in Control Panel you most probably will have to disable it in the BIOS.

Light on mouse searches and doesn't turn off.

Hi, No need to turn off the mouse. Just walk away after shutting down the PC. Your mouse will "go to sleep" by itself. It usually takes my husbands mouse a few minutes but it does go to sleep. Hope this helps.

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Mouse Receiver from the USB port and reinstall the CD software program. When the program asks you to connect the Mouse Receiver to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud
