Compressor runs but does not freeze. The top inside walls will frost up a little but that's all. Even if I change temp setting.

The temp sensor may be bad. You can test it with an ohmmeter to see if there is resistance. You can put one probe on each side to see if there is a reading. Also many units have an auto defrost timer that can go bad. Unfortunately, it is behind the inside panels of the top of freezer.

Its the compressor that given up on you,the only way to fix it is to replace it, however it may well work out far better and cheeper to buy a new freezer

it could be that your fridge, freezer setting is not turned up high enough to keep the freezer cold enough.turn it up to setting number 5 at least and if that dont do it u could have a faulty thermostat.have it checked by a engineer.

Freezer does not freez food at all. the compressor motor run but no cool air or freez! Please advise any solution

Since you say the compressor is running, you should check the evaporator coil inside the cabinet. Remove the back wall screws, and the back wall, to expose the evaporator. If its fully encased in frost, like a square block of snow, you have a defrost problem, heater, t- stat or defrost control. If frost only at the top, your fan is not running. If its bare of frost, all you see is the aluminum coil, you have a sealed system leak of refrigeratnt

Hi My beko frost free freezer has been building up ice in the little grid thing at the top of the freezer. The temperature was also driopping ( to 8) and so I have put it on fast freeze to raise temp. What...

check the door seal on the top of the door if not sitting flat to the frame it will encourage frost to build up (inside the little grid thing)which will stop the rest of the freezer from cooling enough.

It sounds like the thermostat is not sensing when the fridge/freezer reaches it's set temperature. This will result in the compressor running non-stop and this causes ice build-up inside the fridge.See on what number (0-7) the thermostat is set on.If it is set on 7,turn it down to 3 and see if it makes a difference. If there is no difference it means that the thermostat is not sensing & switching the compressor off.You will then have to replace the thermostat.

Freezer control is on the highest setting and the inside temp is 40 degrees and most the food is thawed. what could be wrong?

you may have a bad compressor.also need to check the evaporator fan and see if it is turning. do you have any kind of frost build up on the back wall that you can see.the fan is located behind the rear panel in the back of the freezer if you your it running you may have a bad compressor

Lost vacumn, door popped open alarm on

If is the type of freezer where the shelves are also the evaporator(shelves are very cold and is normal to frost), the fact that only one shelf is iced would indicate the system is low on freon due to a leak. This would also explain the hot walls and compressor. It requires a service man to check the freon level and locate leak and recharge.

Won't freeze

Is the compressor running the whole time? If so may have a problem with a refridgerant leak....check the compressor in the rear of unit, feel if its hot....may be as simple as a relay.

Freezer

The condenser or high side is built into the side walls on these modern freezers and refrigerators in many cases. It is normal for the outside walls to be hot when the unit is working. Frost on the inside of the sealed packets of food is from the moisture content of the food. Running the temperature setting to cold will accelerate the moisture freezing to the inside of the food packets. This also is a normal condition.

Freezer not getting cold enough

I think your system has a leak and has lost the refrigerant charge.
The only way to check is by accessing the sealed system. Most systems are covered for five years on the compressor. Contact the place of purchase and give them your indications for your problem.

Kenmore upright freezer.

Will need a little more information to assist you with answers. Will need the model number if available for you Kenmore and will usually be on inside Freezer/refrigerator door and near bottom. Will look like model #363.1234567 for example.
Now if it's not cooling at all, is the compressor running beneath the fridge? Is the condenser fan running that is below the freezer and near the compressor? Is the evaporator fan blowing air in the freezer section? Do you hear clicking noises in the compressor area and can you feel the compressor to see if you feel warm or hot to touch around its side and top? Can you tell me of any other things that you noticed before the refrigerator stopped working? Is the temp control digital or manual settings? Has the settings been changed since you turned the refrigerator off and then back on? Thanks, Sea Breeze
