My Wii console won't go on. I've checked all the connections. Can't turn it on via the paddles or directly by pushing (and holding) the button on the front.

Have you tried to reset the brick on power cord.
To reset brick you need to unplug power cord from the wii and the wall for 5 mins. where it is not hooked up to anything.

Good Luck

The mario kartwon't turn, it will go staight or backwards I pushed the red button and no change. what next?

Are you holding the controller in your hand sideways?Directional on one side and 1 and 2 buttons on the other? If you are,you just need to kind of turn the controller like a wheel with both hands. If you did that and it still doesn't work let me know.If you pushed the red button is that the one in the battery compartment? If you need to resync, you point the controller at the sensor bar with a game on and press and hold the red button inside the large door on the console. You may need to try it a couple times.
Good luck!

My console turns on via remote. I can push the left and right arrows but I am unable to select anything on the main menu. I have changed batteries, and tried different remotes. No change. Any suggestions?

Do you mean that no cursors appear on your screen? You most likely need a new sensor bar. The button presses are transmitted via wi-fi directly to the wii, but the wiimote's position relies on infrared transmission to the sensor bar.

Can't sync wii remotes to console

When you sync the wii motes you have to do it in proper order!!!

There are 2 ways to sync one is minor out of sync stuff. You push red button on the wii briefly then quickly press the red button on the wiimote.

Second one is what you need to do. First remove any disk then hold in the power button until the light turns red. (not yellow or orange). Release it then unplug the Wii. Do not remove the batteries but if they are low replace them before you turn it back on. Wait at least 2 minutes.
Have the backs off the Wiimotes.
Plug the Wii in.
Turn the power on.
As the Health and Safety screen appears push in the red button on the Wii.
Hold it there a min. of 15 seconds. 25-30 is better.
When you release it right away push the red button on the first Wii mote. It flashes all the lights.
Immediately press then release the red button on the Wiimote while lights are flashing. When they stop flashing it will be synched.
a.Then press the button on the Wii again (this time only hold for 2-3 seconds) then press the red button on the second wiimote and while lights flash press the button on the Wii again.
Repeat a. for any other wiimotes.

Remotes not synchronising

  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
  2. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up.
  3. Press and release the SYNC button on the inside of the SD Card compartment on the console. Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote.
  4. When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).
