Question about RIM Blackberry 8310 8320 8330 Curve 8100 8110 8120 8130 Pearl Car Charger / Veh

1 Answer

I have a 3310 Curve. I recently uograded my operation system for the smartphone. The I downloaded some other files that I wanted mainly for work productivity, e,g, Exigis Expense, Time and Mileage Tracker, others which were wiped out wjhen I upgraded to operating system. Initially the new os improved performance, then it slowed down and software disappeared.

This could be to do with the OS being corrupt. It is always good practice to do a factory reset after upgrading the firmware, This is done in security settings. you will have to type in "blackberry" as the reset paswword. you should be fine after this,

Jowevr if you continue to have problems then please check on yhe RIM website for firmware re-download it and update your phone again, even if it's the same version, then factory reset, somethin may have gone wrong when you flashed the phone the first time.

Please be very carefull using custom versions of firmware as i am aware they are available, just remember they have not been through any quality controll and not made by a development team with millions behind them. If you are using a custom upgrade then i recomend going back to the standard version, also any custom firmware will invalidate your warranty.

4. Connect the Device

5. Doing this will force the pc to see the BlackBerry as new hardware, and thus force it to reload the Operating System (OS)...

The phone's operating system now needs to be re-loaded. You will need a PC and most recent versions of Blackberry Desktop Manager and your phone's software. Step by step instructions can be found at www.blackberry.com/support Search for KB03621.

I am going to guess that since you can copy some types of media files to your phone then the problem is the format of the video files you want to copy. The phone's media playing application may not show files it cannot recognize.(or show an error message).

If you want to watch videos (or movies) on any type of smart phone or mobile player then I suggest you download a free application called Format Factory. It converts any type of media file to any other type of media file (video, music, pictures, DVDs). It has settings for Blackberry phones, iPods, PsP, etc. Go to: http://www.formatoz.com/ and check it out.
