My problem is when the washer sits a while it fills up with water and over flows out the front. The normal washing cycle is fine but the over flow out the front has happened twice, anyone with any advice

What would stop the washer in our LSE7806A from working?

Let's figure out what it's doing or not doing. From that, we can figure out how to make it do what it's SUPPOSED to do, or stop doing what it's NOT supposed to do.

First... since it was stored, we can pretty safely assume that it was deemed to be suitable for storage - actually functional - when it was put there. Why else would one store it?

So... tell us a little about what happens or doesn't happen. When you plug it in, connect the water, turn on the water, fill the machine with clothing, select a wash cycle, and turn it on... what happens? If NOTHING happens (the machine sits there dumb & silent), check the power outlet to be sure there's good power there. Plug a lamp into the outlet to prove it.

If it hums and clicks but doesn't release any water to fill the tub, doublecheck your water supply. Prove that water does indeed come out of the taps. Also check the little screens in the water connections to the washer - are they clogged full of dirt and sand? Wasp mud nests (from storage)? If all looks well, look closely at the water control solenoids inside the washer. Check power there, verify solenoid operation.

Next... if it fills but doesn't move, doesn't agitate, doesn't spin... check the motor. Verify power there, inspect the drive belt.

If all is well up to this point but it doesn't drain, inspect the belt again and look closely at the pump.

If it makes odd noises, look inside the back or bottom (or remove the top) and determine where those odd noises are coming from. You can track them down by ear (ears are marvelous directional finders for sounds) and hands and eyes.

If you find the absence of power anywhere except in the power cord, look to the washer's control head. Trace power through it (for this a multimeter or AC test light is a handy tool).

Keep us posted on what you're starting with and what you find.

When washer sits and door is open, I get about 3 inches of water in tub.

There are 2 possible reasons for this to happen.
1- you have a sticking water inlet valve, turn off suuply and see if it still fills, if it does not, then the valve or valves need to be replaced, if it still fills, then water is probably coming from sink waste if the drain outlet is connected to same, in this event, raise outlet hose higher up to stop syphoning action..
Pleaase rate my solution.
Thanks.

Sitting Water

You may have some blockage in the draining of the tub.  Mine has a clean out trap behind the removable bottom front panel that I need to clean out evry 2-3 months.

Water from the cycle remains in the bottom of the washer.

Sure we can help, what are we sitting here for. And don't forget, ITS FREEE. (The weight of the washer is not the water, but concrete blocks to counter balance your clothes; so the machine does not fly off when it spins.) The draining involves several factors, giving you the most common. If you surf this site you'll find your solution. Solution is for another machine, but could be helpful for you: The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 screws. The panel will drop and come off. The filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a bunch of towels or a good big plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in. Plz rate if helped.......

Kenmore washer quit working

it may be waiting for a faulty heater to kick in. try it on a cold water wash, no heat and see if it continues the full wash. if it does not then it may have a faulty timer.

Water Overflow

hi there,

i would recommend checking the water level switch or lid switch and also the cable leading to it. that is what sends a signal to the machine control to stop filling with water.
