That fixed the problem. Thank you, thank you, thank you

  • Anonymous Aug 28, 2008

I inadvertantly pressed the check "save" button on French instructions while scrolling for English in installing my Lexmark X4850. I then backed out of the installation process -- removing the disc of instructions, shutting down the computer and unplugging the Lexmark, as I couldn't figure out how to get the instruction window to read in English. Now, I need to "unsave" the French so I can get English on the screen, and start over again installing with the disc instructions. I have Vista on my Dell Computer. Thanks. AG

Trying to set up printer need english instructions

If you have just connected the power to the unit for a first time install and turned it on, use the up/down arrows to get to the correct language. Then click OK.

If you are past that point and have to change the language. On the product control, click the button next to the copy button on the all-in-one. Then on the control panel, touch the top right corner, the left middle side and then the left bottom corner (one at a time) to access the Language Menu. Then touch the button next to Set Language for a list of available languages. Use the up/down arrows to select the language you need and click OK. If you also need to change the region, press the button beside to Set Region to get that list. Use the arrows to change the region and click OK.

Finally hit the Back button twice to exit the menu.

How do I have printer switch from empty paper tray 1 to the full 550 paper tray 2

Hi. You need to do tray linking. When one linked tray is empty, paper feeds from the next linked tray. The size and type settings for all trays must be set from the Paper Menu. To set the paper type or size:
1. On the home screen, touch Menu button
2. Touch Paper Menu
3. Touch Paper Size/Type.
Note: To link the multipurpose feeder, Configure MP must be set to Cassette in order for MP Feeder Size or MP
Feeder Type to appear as a menu item.
4. Touch the right or left arrows to select the same size paper from all paper sources to be linked.
5. Touch the right or left arrows to select the same type paper from all paper sources to be linked.
Note: When the Size and Type settings are the same for any trays, the trays are automatically linked.
6. Touch Submit.
Submitting changes appears.
7. Touch Home to return to the home screen.
Hope this helps.
