Hi, you can try a hard reset, simply take out the battery for 30mins and put it back in. If this does not solve your problem its most likely the battery that will need replacing.

Hope this helps

After you kill it, when you try to start it back up, does the starter turn the motor? Or is it froze up (will not turn over)?

More than likely, the motor centrifugal switch is stuck. You should be able to turn off the element with the timer control switch. If the timer switch is on and the dryer is not running, the element should be off, unless the motor contact is stuck closed. You will have to get to the motor and 'un stick' the contact. Its a bit tricky, you may need help.

Dryer stays hot hours after using it

The heater has failed and/or is shorting to the case. Remove the rear panel. The heater is on the right side, attached to the heater housing with two screws.
