How to save ringtone download to the phone

Create a folder named 'ringtones' (without the quotes) in the root of your SD card, and copy the files (mp3, wma, ogg) you want to use as ringtones to that folder. Then, as usual, if you either edit the contact entry you want to set one of the newly copied ringtones to, or open the dialer's default ringtone settings, the files you copied should appear in the selection list.
Hope it works for you.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you any further, since it would also work if you copied those files directly to the internal '/system/media/audio/ringtones' directory, but it would mean you would have to mount the '/system' directory as a read-write drive, and set write permissions to those directories beforehand. Such operations are far more complicated than the SD card solution, but I could explain them to you, if you really want.
Best regards, Carlos

When putting music or pictures on pny 4gb mirco sd card from my hp pavillion dv7-1247d lap top than put card in my samsung sch-r451c phone it shows up on memory but can not see or play music. yes I first...

I dont have a solution, but my aunt purchased this phone and a new SD card, and I have put pictures and music for ringtones from my computer to the SD Card, and when I put it back into her phone (Samsung R451C) I can not bring any of the pictures up and I can bring the music for the ringtones, but I cannot set it as a ringtone. I am sure if I was able to bring the pictures up, that I probably would not be able to set them as a wallpaper or nothing also...So I kind of have the same problem with setting my aunt's pictures and music with the same phone too...

How can I set a ringtone that I have on my SD card as a download as a contact ringtone?

If you want them off the SD card, they need to be in a specific directory. Mount your SD card, and from your computer, create the following directories (if they are not there already):

-create a folder named media
-within this folder, create a folder named audio
-within this folder, create a folder named ringtones

Copy any audio files into that ringtones directory. I know mp3 and ogg files will work.

Unmount your SD card. Reboot your phone, and when you want to assign a ringtone, any of the newly copied ones should be on your list.

I just received my new lg cf360 in the mail, inserted my micro sd card and it does not work, says "card not ready!" I previously had the sd in my blackberry pearl and it worked fine.

I ended up figuring it out myself. I inserted my sd card in my pc, copied everything into a folder, went in my computer & right clicked my sd card, (labeled blackberry) formatted it. Reinstalled my stuff from the folder I copied, and inserted it in my new phone. Voila!
Only problem now, my ringtones do not work, says file too big. & The phone tends to occasionally have a brain fart and lock up or erase my info. This is a cheap crappy phone.......

How can I use music as a ringtone on my Lg C920?

look under your Music Player for the ringtone, instead of looking under audio and ringtones. Then open it like you want to listen to it. choose "Set as" then Ringtone ID. this should work as long as the file is formatted as an MP3

Lg scoop

Simple solution, Alltel belives and enforces digital copyright management, while you can listen to your favorite tones and music, you will NOT be able to use them as ringtones, or use them with any of the features of the phone other then playing the tunes for entertainment. The only way to use files as ringtones is to purchase the files from alltel, or use their realtone jukebox, etc.

Sorry about the news , but welcome to ALLTEL!

Copying music to phone, (from SD card)

Thats right.. some cellphones have this limitation where you cannot set your phone ringtone selecting songs from memory card. You have to copy it to phone memory and then only, your ringtone will set. I know this is very much frustating, but my suggesion is go for phone where this problem doesnt exists.
